Short version: at times, I feel as if the humor comes off as disrespectful when other shows have proven it doesn't have to be this way.

And this particular episode (which I only tuned in for because it was getting some press and I wanted to see what they were talking about) did hit on a topic of some personal importance to me... hence why I'm suddenly being vocal about it.
They were also talking about this briefly on the Captain Comics forum and they match your view Lilly.

One of the biggest problems I have is that the character of Penny is supposed to be a struggling actress, yet she disdains the genre movies that can really help an actresses career. Superhero movies have come into their own and it would make more sense for her to go for them since she has easy reference handy in the guys.

It isn't like that now but before the Vertigo Sandman and Manga became popular that was pretty accurate ( if a bit over the top).

Ugh, so apparently this horrid show is supposed to be set at my alma mater. I suppose any form of notoriety is positive, but I don't think watching it is necessarily going to encourage smart AND well-adjusted young people to apply there.

So how did he pick up the hammer?
