    Maybe it's just the cover.

But yeah, I love the warrior king look with the antler crown, but perhaps now Swampy has reverted to his more normal self since the war against Rot is over

i'll check out the first arc by this guuy, Soule, but i'm seriously thinking about dropping this book. Rotworld has almost killed my interest in the character.

and please God, no more 11-12 issue story arcs. ever. on any title.

I'm in for at least a few issues. Never heard of the new writer but I'll give him a chance. Scott Snyder said on twitter: "So happy that it's @CharlesSoule taking over Swamp Thing from me at #19. He's got great plans, & great love for ST!"

Didn't Kano work on some of the later issues of Gotham Central? I liked his work there and on the ST zero issue. Good choice.

My sentiments exactly, it's of course almost expected for the outgoing writer to support his successor, what with the transition made on good terms and all that; yet Soule comes from work at Image which has been putting out such great creator owned books in the last few years it seems only common sense to keep up with the book with a fair chance.

I approach this with trepidation. On one hand, Swamp Thing has been mostly hit or miss in the lead-up to Rotworld, while it's actually been the better of the two Rotworld books.

On the other hand, this is a nice jumping-off point and would allow me to try another book. I think I will be giving the new team one issue to make an impression on me, be it good or bad.

For me this is, fundamentally, a win for the inclusion of rising talent into DC's writing bench. Irrespective of any individual's success, I think this is the best way to get exciting new ideas and styles in DC comics. Soule isn't someone I would have thought of, necessarily, but he puts out good work - smart work - and I think he'll bring something interesting to the universe, like Kindt and Fialkov.

So, now...expanded roles for Kindt and Fialkov. Gotta keep pushing.

This should be a sure thing in the not to distant future. After all, Scott and Jeff got expanded roles after a while.

My ideal creative-team would have been Ann Nocenti (or Joshua Fialvov..or BOTH) with art by Jose Juan Ryp, I'm not afraid to say..

.. of course, I'll give the title a chance; DC brought back my all-time fave character. Snyder and Paquette did an awesome work, I'd have wished they stay longer to really use and play with what they seeded, in that way this is how the new ST book looked really promising..But after the huge sales-effect, it seems DC want to have their names EVERYWHERE.

    >> Thanks for the cancellation of I VAMPIRE btw
