    Default Some upcoming Collections Info

This is from the latest Hatchette catalog for their marvel collections.

Ultimates/X-Men will no longer have premiere hardcovers, and go straight to paperbacks. In addition, looks like the only way to get X-Men 13-18 and Ultimates 13-18 will be the DWF/UWS collection (I assume we'll see a tpb of that at some time).

In addition, Venom War will end with issue 23(May) (Five issue arc). And confirms Reconstruction will end with issue #24(May).

Thank God, I much prefer paperbacks to the hardcovers.

Yes, thank god for the dwindling sales of Marvel Comics and the dwindling amount of products they will produce.

This news kinda suck (for me), almost everything I have is hardcover, so I'm not crazy about the tpbs.

Also, I'll have the UCSM vol.3 that already have issues reprinted in DWF HC, so...not crazy about that either.

Will this X-Men collection be a good entry point? I haven't been pulling X-Men, but I hear Brian Wood's run is fantastic.

I can't believe they're only selling the DWF/UWS stories together; it wasn't even a real crossover.

Yes. But it'd be worth buying the DWF collection anyway because it sets up X-Men very well.

Why did they go with UCSM #21's cover for volume 4? #20's cover is so much better!

I'm wondering the same thing, and besides, with the talk about Miles' girlfriend it makes it look like Gwen is Miles' love interest and that's...yeah, no.

The hardcover for UCSM vol.3 was released not long ago, collecting issues #11-15. SO WHAT THE FRICK'S HAPPENED TO #17 & #18!!?!!?!!

However the TPB of it isn't out yet. I don't know when that's due.

Miles Morales, the newly minted Spider-Man, teams up with the Prowler! But wait, isn't the Prowler a bad guy?! Caught in a moral crisis, Miles must choose between battling his uncle-turned-crimelord, or joining him to keep his family safe! What path will the young hero take? And what will be the dramatic consequences? Plus: With the nation at war, Miles Morales decides to become a member of the Ultimates - and he will do absolutely anything it takes to earn that right.

    Collecting Ultimate Comics Spider-Man 11-18
Wait...I've just checked the marvel homepage and you're right, it collects until 16, not 15. I guess the only way to get 17 & 18 it's to get the DWF/UWS Hardcover. Oh joy.

It collects up to 18, don't worry.

Thanks you two. The Amazon information about it has changed many times since the volume's announcement. And now, more inaccurate details, shortly before it's release, starting to get me a little paranoid about it. I care about my TPB collection a lot more than the issues.

I want to pick up Brian Wood's X-Men, but I don't want to have to buy the entire DWF/UWS crossover. Bah. I'll just skip it and pick up the Volume 1 collection in June.
