As far as I can tell, Marvel NOW is just here to set up Age of Ultron and make sure all the pieces are in place for them to turn the world upside down. Make sure Starbrand and Captain Universe are behind the sun. Franklin lost in space. E-Team with their powers out of control. And we don't know yet what happens to Wanda in Uncanny Avengers #8AU.

Odd that this is what brought me back to regularly reading Spider-Man since the clone saga!

I'm loving Marvel NOW! I enjoyed Bendis' Avengers run but I definately think it was time for a new writer. I had never read anything by Hickman but I think this Avengers and New Avengers run is becoming my favourite of all the volumes. I was sad to see Remenders Uncanny X-Force end as it was the only X-book I was getting aside from Gambit but with Marvel NOW! I've been given not one but two X-Forces so I'm more than happy.

There have been a few titles I picked up that I didn't think I would. Thunderbolts (Only read and own the Ellis run), Nova and Guardians of the Galaxy. Thunderbolts was a full on impulse buy, I don't like Ways art but the team was just to good to pass up (Buying Venom, so his inclusion was a big factor) and with Noto hopping on for this arc it has really jumped in quality. As for Guardians and Nova they are too early in to tell but I'm enjoying them very much.

Also just want to add in that despite all fluff about Remenders Uncanny Avengers run I'm loving the shit out of it. I'm glad hes been able to carry on his story from Uncanny X-Force, especially with Pestilence getting pregnant to Archangel and now the Apocalypse Twins.

I think you have that backwards. Age of Ultron was in the works before AvX. It was supposed to be Bendis's swansong on Avengers.
Why aren't you reading Winter Soldier? You should be!

    I'm loving:

    All New-X-Men
    Uncanny X-Men
    Superior Spider-Man
    Journey Into Mystery
    Savage Wolverine

    I'm liking:

    Avengers
    Uncanny Avengers
    Thor God of Thunder
    Captain America
    Uncanny X-Force
    Wolverine
    Iron Man
    Nova

    That's alot of good books.

And I wasn't a huge fan of Fantastic Four and Indestructible Hulk, but the most recent issues of each of these have been excellent.

And I'm definitely looking forward to Coipel's X-Men title.

So yeah, I'm enjoying Marvel NOW so far.

I'm still loving it, five months after this thread was posted. Every book has met or exceeded my hopes for it, some (like Captain America, Uncanny Avengers, and Young Avengers) have all proved to be far more fantastic than my wildest dreams!

Marvel NOW loses points for the cancelation of Winter Soldier. Latour was doing good stuff there. But, Avengers AI (a book I'm super hyped for, and never even thought to expect!) kinda makes up for that. :D

    I went with Meh.
Winter Soldier being cancelled is a shame, like others have said Latour had something going here. The new team was never given a chance, since the first rumors this book was being canned was out before the new creative teams first issue hit the stand.

Superior Spiderman / Avenging Spiderman - Superior has been hit or miss for me, mostly hit. However Avenging has been awesome, Yost has hit a homerun with his version of Spock + great art, and the underlying sinister six subplot = top notch.

Avengers Arena - Been a very pleasant surprise. Its not a Hunger Games rip-off and has me caring about secondary characters, some of which I have never heard of. The Arcade origin issue was the only issue to date that I have not enjoyed.

Scarlet Spider - another holdover from Pre-Now. Real close to dropping this title. Haven't enjoyed in quite a while, Pham's art is crap, Minimum Carnage was a steaming pile of dog poo, and basically ruined both this book and Venom for me (I dropped Venom, right after the latest .1 issue, it was getting to weird for me).

Tried an issue or two of a few other titles but nothing caught my interest. Morbius was horrible, Savage Wolverine, liked the first issue, dropped after issue 2, may pick up the Joe Mad arc. Other than that, nothing really interests me, so far from Marvel Now, although I have heard good things about A + X being a fun team-up book. If it was $2.99. I would of more than likely picked it up also.

Yes, I know AU was conceived before AVX. Just that you couldn't do AU with Franklin Richards still in play, and without the Earth being traumatized by FI and AVX beforehand.

I haven't had that problem. I decided to skip Age of Ultron just because of event fatigue and it didn't affect anything I was reading except for maybe GoTG.

    My reactions so far:

Avengers - No. Feels like the characters I know and love have been replaced with thoughtless, undisciplined bullies. Huge death tolls and planet-changing events feel completely contrived and irrelevant.

New Avengers - so-so. Black Swan is interesting. The story concept is interesting. I really don't think Reed & Tony are acting like themselves, though. Maybe it's just me, but it's hard for me to get into them in their 21st century nouveau-fascist roles. I might not like the book if the art weren't so good.

Uncanny Avengers - Enjoying it, after a rocky start. I was annoyed that the first story arc had the city plunged into chaos with neighbor killing neighbor. What hell it must be to live in the Marvel Universe. Such a horrid place these days. Really enjoying the title now that the stories are seeming more character-driven and less about giant calamities that everyone is too late to affect.

Avengers Assemble - Semi-following, though I have not particularly liked the storylines. At least the Avengers are portrayed in it as being personable among each other, and reverent when faced with the deaths of innocents.

Secret Avengers - Ehhhhhh I'm still not a fan of the new Nick Fury, but the series is okay. Nothing jumping out at me so far.

Dark Avengers - I miss the Thunderbolts as they were. The current team is very uninteresting to me, and the alternate reality story is even more so.

Avengers Arena - Bottom of the heap. This is a title I would love to see canceled. The Avengers went from taking responsibility by training the heroes of tomorrow, to not even noticing they are missing. The kids in the story see no real character progression, and the kids not in the story are in limbo. If I saw an issue that started with some of the other Marvel U youth breaking in to Arcade's facility because they've located their friends and have arrived, then I might pay attention. Every issue of this that I see, I think "when will it end?"

Age of Ultron - Semi-following, only because it's creeping into my other titles, and because I am worried how it will further change the status quo.

Captain America - Enjoying it. Nice to see something completely different being done with Steve.

Thor, God of Thunder - Enjoying it a lot. This run is going to go down in Thor history.

Fantastic Four - so-so. Started out interesting, but the driving idea behind the story (Reed wanting to cure the cancer threatening his family) is sort of in limbo.

FF - I like it as a nice alternative to the morbidness that blankets most of the rest of the Marvel U.

Thunderbolts - It's an interesting title, but again I miss the Thunderbolts as they were. I like the team, but the obvious necessity of having so much graphic death be a part of this team of killing machines limits my enjoyment, lol. Detailed head-shots is not my thing, but what do you expect with this crew. The graphic death is at home here.

All-New X-Men: I mostly liked Bendis on Avengers and followed him over to this title. It's the first X-Men I've enjoyed in a long time. The concept of the original five starting over in the current Marvel U is interesting. Not reading any other X-Men books.

Superior Spider-Man: This is the first time I've read much Spidey since the Brand New Day bs. Been enjoying it. This is the only Spidey title I read.

Guardians of the Galaxy - I don't follow this

Fearless Defenders - It's been good so far. The art and characterizations are both really good. (I wonder what happened with Valkrye & Venom? Are they kaput?) I hope more of the team starts to become clear in the near future.

Iron Man & Indestructible Hulk & Journey Into Mystery - Plan on catching up one of these days.

Red She Hulk - Not following. Give me Jennifer. Oh, wait, there she is! Haz my attention now.
