So disappointed with the direction this season of Fringe has taken. Everything they've built up with the parallel universe's and Olivia's powers seems to have been disregarded for this generic takeover plot. The hardest thing I've found to swallow is the observers turning into tyrants. Wouldn't an evolved version of humanity want to come back in time to help earth and not take it over?
I've only seen a few eps from this season so I don't know if there's been any major plot changes, but the previews seem to suggest its continuing takeover plot. However, I've invested too much into this show to not watch the finale. Hopefully it will redeem itself.

Hyper intelligent emotionless beings would not think of unenhanced beings as equals, but more as pets or service animals. And since they believe they know the best thing for the future of humanity, they are doing everything they can to keep the resistance from launching a plot to stop them.

That reasoning didn't work well for the scientist in Mars Attacks...
