    Wow, last night I was watching He-Man (really sucks, btw) and thinking about how they dumped that mini on Giffen. Now this. Well, I wish it had Tan but I'll still look into it.

    I read Giffen as Gillen. &%&#%
    DC snubbing Gillen from Marvel is an unattainable dream.

    Good to see that he's finally He-Man, again.

    But who is he fighting; Hordaka, She-Hordak?

    Anything He-Man, count me in. I saw a female Hordak and immediately knew it was Adora (apparently called Despara until her royalty is revealed).

    @Namtab: read this post

    His twin sister, Adora, in the guise of Force Captain Despera of the Horde. It's from the latest digital comic and is a reinvention of the old Force Captain story from the pilot of She-Ra.

    Thanks guys.

    I haven't been following this book (and I'm really rusty on He-Man lore), but if I hear/read good things, I might jump in at some point.

    Awesome. I've been enjoying the mini series. Look forward to an on-going. The original cartoon doesn't hold up well, but the premise is ripe for a more serious take on the story. Much like the Cartoon Network re-imagining of the Thundercats (which was fantastic!) I hope this gets picked up for a cartoon again too.

    The digital shorts have been significantly better than the not-so-hot main mini. Check 'em out.

    I actually think re-doing the cartoon, but with the two power swords premise, that was in the old mini-comics and books in the '80s, would work pretty well. Plus, it would be fresh (as a cartoon), but at the same time, true to one aspect of the He-Man lore. I'm just not sure if Mattel would ever go for that.

    As a child of the 80s, I owed it to myself to pick up the first issue of the mini... and I HATED it. I read, and eventually purchased, the rest of the sereis because it got better, or I was more open to lost identity/quest storyline. Either way... That said, I've also been watching the 2002 Masters of the Universe series, and it is actually really well done, with a definite sequence to the episodes and a larger, overarching story (sorta). It's a good update to the original show. I just wish they didn't cancel it before Hordak joined the fray.

    Except Giffen is keen on it, because his son grew up on MOTU and so he was familiar with it.
