Default "Amazing Spider-Man" #700 Tops December Sales Chart

"Amazing Spider-Man" #700 led Marvel to an easy #1 position on December's comic sales charts while "The Walking Dead" was joined by fellow Image titles "Chew," "Saga" and "Fatale" to dominate the graphic novel Top Ten.

Will be intresting to see how Marvel NOW sales shift in month two. DC's still neck-and-neck with Marvel.

Thunderbolts launched outrageously high for that franchise, and once again Bendis on the cover proves to not be much of a deterrent for readers.

Bendis isn't involved with Thunderbolts anyway. It's by Daniel Way and Steve Dillon, lol.

Shocked by how high Thunderbolts charted! I would never have expected a top 10 placing!

I meant about All New X-Men #3 remaining in the top 10. Most of the other Marvel NOW books look to slid down the list.

    That isn't Uncanny...its a whole new X-Men title called "All-New X-Men" . Uncanny returns in Feb/March .

Yeah but Marvel's output is pretty low these days. DC generally puts out more titles than Marvel does these days.

If I remember correctly, in November DC had 81 items in the top 300 as opposed to Marvel's 68. That includes double shipped items.

I haven't been keeping an eye on all the titles, but the other week I thought my LCS must have not been shipped ANXM that week because they had no shelf copies. I took it off my pull list the week before so someone got lucky. Seems like Bendis on the X-Men will do far better than that other attempt to draw on both the X-Men and Avengers fan bases that launched NOW!.

If he can avoid the pitfalls of some of his quirks (pages of nothing buy dialogue , little plot or action) then yep he is a good writer. His USM was a great read as was his Daredevil. His 1st Avengers run (Old and New) started off great. Then he just started dropping plots , never really resolving his 1st plots and dialogue stuff became too much. So far he seems to have started off good on All-New X-Men. Hope it keeps up.
