Damn. So it really is ending. A lot of us were under the impression it would just reboot. But apparently not.
You'll be missed, Cassie and Vlad. It's been a good run, and this is shaping up to be a great finale.

I'm not totally surprised, Tim said early on it would have a Sandman run. The only reason I'm partially surprised is because when the series started over at #1 when it moved to Image, it made me lose track of how many issues had been put out. But although I prefer stories to wrap up while they're fresh, I'm still going to miss H/S.. a lot.

Well as one of the people that was there at the beginning with those one shots, the ongoing, the disaster of the copy right debacle over reanimator(luckily managed to purchase those under printed issues), the move to image, and now the finale, I just hope it is worthy ending of these characters.
Cyclops Lives!
The con's..
1. The copyright issues over Reanimator..
2. The fact the Bump crossover couldn't entirely be re-printed in trades..
3. The Suicide Girls crossver (wasn't fond of that crossover due to SG being shady)
4. The DDP/Diamond delays.. and the whole DDP mess in general...
5. The Eva crossover..
The pro's..
1. Other than the art in the Toys mini series, I enjoyed every single issue of the monthly.
2. It reminded me why I became obsessed with slasher flicks in the 80's..
3. It had a lot of lovely sarcasm/levity...
4. Cassie made Buffy look like a wuss.. and actually was far more about female empowerment.. imo.
5. Vlad amused me..
6. Cat rocks...
7. The BLS
8. Akakios/Samhain..
9. Leister's pencilling during the Image run
10. Emily's pencilling during the DDP run..
I could go on but the point is, Hack/Slash and the Walking Dead kept me buying comics for the last few years. If those two titles didn't exist, I probably would have stopped years ago.

Sounds like someone has been spoiled by reading too many "mainstream" comics! I hope the series will also be available for individual TRDPBKs, not everyone has the cash to buy humongous OMNIBI sets! Frank Miller (and Dark Horse?) makes sure that SIN CITY stays in print in convenient formats and DC does likewise with SANDMAN it seems to be working for them.

Been there since that beginning so sad to hear this news but from the nature of the title not totally surprised on the other hand that this is what is going to happen.
I don't see what's shady about naked chicks with nose rings.
Hack/Slash is one of my tip top favorites, and I didn't really believe it was ending, too soon, rocks too hard. Still, this interview does say Tim's open to bringing it back for another spin, and I do find it hard to believe a crossover will be Cassie's last dance. So I'm still optimistic we'll see another mini-series or two (or ten).
DROKK IT!!
Hah, the hotties that have worked with SG like Apnea, they weren't shady at all.
The co-owner of the company though went on an anti muslim rant years back, not unlike one of Miller's rants. Then SG was accused of selling photos of the models without first getting consent from the models. Those two things make SG shady. Then while these things don't make them shady, it made me dislike them. One of their mission objectives was quantity over quality. While they had attractive girls on the site, they had more "filler" (ie: iffy looking chicks). They weren't beastly like that girl who is in that Girls show on HBO, but they weren't easy on the eyes. They also would always say things that made them sound like they were pioneers when it came to alternative models when in reality, Blue Blood and a number of other alt porn sites were around years before.
But on the bright side, there's always a bright side, isn't there?
It allowed Hack/Slash to get some decent PR since SG was relatively popular at the time.

I remember hearing about this a while back. All good things must come to an end.
There is light at the end of the tunnel Tim Seeley maybe just maybe he will return with the book in the future .
