That's a great idea. We were able to play as Batman, Robin, Nightwing, and/or Catwoman so up the ante by having such characters work together. A 2 player challenge mode would be cool but I would be satisfied with an intelligent AI sidekick.

Making Steph a character that relies almost entirely on different kinds of batarangs in battle could work. I didn't think there was a way to make her fighting style stand out in a videogame, but that would do nicely.

Yes, totally yes! I would love to see Catman and Deadshot as playable

Also I would love to see the classics like Joker, Penguin, Riddler, Two-Face, and maybe even Ivy as playable.

Wouldn't you love to play a mode where you take on the villians trying to survive against Batman? It could be like a survival mode. One player plays Batman and has to pick them off one by one. Obviously there would have to be some clever way to keep Batman from being gunned down.

I'll believe that when I see an official news release. Still, Dini seems to have been let go from the third game, so I guess it's possible that they'll just ignore the seeds he planted in City altogether and just start fresh. I really think it was a mistake packing so much villains into City, quite a few of them seemed to be there just for the sake of namechecking as many Bat-villains as possible and didn't add to either the story nor the gaming experience. Rocksteady has pretty much written themselves into a corner now, since they crammed almost all the classic Bat-rogues into the last game there's really not a lot of places to go with them for the third one. In that aspect it seems wise to go for a broader scale with more of a full DCU/Justice League vibe, but I really hope they go about it differently and keep the general feel and mood from Asylum and City.

Written themselves into a corner??? Lol, you make it sound like Batman's rogues are a one and done deal. They can put Croc, Scarecrow, Riddler, and Penguin into the next game and people would be happy to see them. Sprinkle in some new villains (like Catman, Black Mask (not counting his tiny cameo), or even the court of owls), add a dash of Bat allies like Huntress, throw in a few other DC heroes and villains, and you got MORE Then enough to work with.

And, I think we'll see another TRUE "arkham" game eventually. I think they're...

    A. Taking a break from the main story line.
    B. Trying to cash in on the JLA movie.

After this upcoming game I'd bet on Arkham Gotham or Arkham World.

They probably want a change of pace for a little while. Hell, I want a change of pace for a little while.

Seriously? Arkham Gotham and Arkham World are never going to happen. It'd be way too huge. Arkham City, maybe a little bigger, is as big as it should get. I hope they don't stick with the Arkham banner, it's quite annoying. Two times is a coincidence, three is a pattern. And I pray to god that they don't do a silver age prequel, especially without Mark Hamill.
As for playable characters, I want Nightwing, Tim Drake, NO Catwoman (annoying as crap), Huntress and Oracle. Yes, I want to kick butt in a wheelchair.

Yeah, I guess that was a bit harsh. I'm sure there are a lot of ways to get more interesting material from the already used characters but I still feel like a lot of them were "wasted" quite a bit by getting crammed into City just for the sake of appearing. Asylum did this much better, as every character felt quite essential to the story or at least tied into it without seeming too forced.

Give me the snarky black mask from under the hood

Give me a court of owls who have a very creepy background presence throughout the game, making taking them down a big side mission. Make discovering their nests easter eggs.

Give me professor pyg, make him a big threat

    Give me Michael Lane Azrael

Give me Hush as one of the main villains

    Flamingo cameo

Do not give me that horrible joke of a bane

give me a firefly side mission

give me a batmobile driving segment

    give me wayne manor

give me the narrows and downtown gotham both

if I get something like, I believe it could top the first two.
Grandparents dead - please no jokes

No conformation on the next game being a prequel? I thought there was already some.

If it is a prequel (which would make sense if they want to use the Joker as the main villain again) then obviously I'd like to see the original Robin and Batgirl as playable characters. Giving Dick and Babs each their own campaign would be interesting. I know this would be quite controversial but maybe include a variation of the Killing Joke story to be to explain why Oracle is in a wheelchair. It would certainly bring a lot of attention to the game, but I know that probably won't happen. Still, I do think they have gone through Batman's rogues in the last two games a little too fast. I would have spread it out a bit more but I guess it made sense for story reasons.

I don't know how I'd feel about them using the Arkham games as a way to introduce the Justice League. I would rather the Arkham games just stay focused on Batman, Gotham and his stories. I get that it would be a good way for them to introduce more people to the JL characters, since millions of people will play the game, as a setup for the movie but I'd rather they just use them in their own separate game. Arkham Universe would just feel strange.

Arkham gotham could totally happen. A map that covers a large part of gotham is VERY possible. Arkham world could happen with a bit of clever thinking... multiple Arkham City sized maps in different areas of the world perhaps?

Arkham Gotham makes the most sense. A grand theft auto sized map would allow for the usage of various bat vehicles, which seems like the next logical gameplay step.

Tim did fight pretty much exclusively with his bo staff, aside from certain counters. It's funny how much more fun Tim and Nightwing are to play as.

Dick because he's fast as balls, and Tim because that "PONG" sound when steel staff meets face is oh so satisfying.

But for Cass I wouldn't want bullet time mode or anything super strong, but I would giver her baton / knife counters, and also give her invincibility frames while dodging.

So while Bruce/Dick/Tim still get nicked by bullets even while diving, Cass wouldn't. She'd need low health though, obviously. And I wouldn't give her any gadgets aside from rangs.

I'm not quite understanding the people "praying" that there's no prequel.

As I understand it, it's in addition to the third Arkham game.

Why would any Bat fan complain about more Batman games by a company that has NAILED the last two?

    Thoroughly confusing.

I think I'd prefer Arkham Planet to be honest. Multiple sandbox locations can work in a game. The Assassins Creed games manage it well enough. I want Arkham series Batman in other parts of the world dammit!
