I agree with this as well. Franklin forgets about his powers or they get dampened when a new writer comes along. It's the same as Johnny reverting back to a prankster after being serious with previous writer. It's the same as how new X-Men writers show that someone has to tell/teach Iceman that he can be more creative with his powers (I would not be surprised if present-day Iceman learns how to do something from his younger self). I think Fantastic Four would have been better if Reed had said that they were going on a family vacation. No need for a "search for the cure" storyline. The FF team could have been there as replacements without the "for only 4 minutes" premise.

Maybe because I've read so much of the Four over the years this wash-rinse-repeat- recycle is becoming increasingly annoying and IMO completely unnecessary. Do the writers think we're going to forget everything that quickly??

Reed hiding important info about the family, particularly after the issue was brought up between him and Sue in Hickman's run, doesn't work for me. And it wasn't clear to me how the larger part of the creature remained hidden from his onboard sensor equipment, etc. This was just a pretty bland bit of filler. When is this book going to kick it into the next gear?

though i am enjoying Fraction's take on F4 and FF thus far...yeah, i think after the whole Council of Reeds incident that Reed learned his lesson about keeping secrets.

Though not much happens in the issue, I think it'll play a part down the road. Something's going on with Ben too. I don't mind a few slow issues here or there.

Clearly not everyone is dying from this, as Ben is still alive several thousand years in the future and Franklin will watch the Universe ends while bro-ing out with Galactus.

This is a quality book, its just not for me. I have been waiting for 2.99 book of Bags art for awhile, especially with a cast that I am interested in, but this isnt it. Maybe, I just need to take a break from it. Give myself a little Hickman break, and come to this book with fresh eyes. FF is definitely a keeper though.

Didn't find anything wrong with this issue or the series in general so far, but then again I wasn't an ongoing reader of F4 before the series relaunched.

It's not as good as Hickman, yes.

It's a reset, or mostly thus far, yes.

But both of those realities are right in line with my expectations and it's still a really good F4 book, imho. This issue started to bring the goods with epic planetoid space-lure battle. I'm letting Fraction/Bagley get their feet under them and give these characters their own coat of paint.

Top 10: Archer and Armstrong, Batman Inc., Captain America, Dial H, Fatale, Hawkeye, New Avengers, Revival, Saga, Wonder Woman

My biggest concern with this is Johnny reverting back to being the immature kid who has to be told how to use his powers. After what Hickman did with Johnny, especially after his death, I'd hate to see Johnny regress. I agree about Reed keeping secrets. His heart may be in the right place but he should know better by now. And Bagley is going to have to do a better job of discerning Franklin from Johnny. I'm still sticking with the title but I hope these concerns get dealt with.

You are right, but Marvel could say that they are alive in the future because of whatever Reed does in the present.
