"Why fat doctor hide in Bug-Man's body? Hulk tear you out of it."
Let's just hope it doesn't go like this embarrassing fight went down. That almost ruined my childhood... but interestingly enough, still didn't make me respect Doc Ock all that much, even before I saw their rematch.
But who had the last laugh?! http://goodcomics.comicbookresources...ta-messages-6/
I write comic book reviews every Wednesday using pages from each book. Check it: Is It Good?: All the Best Books of the Day Reviewed!
I've never actually seen Ghost, so I can't really comment one way or the other on that.
This is, of course, assuming that Pete is actually a literal ghost or a manifestation of Peter's personality represented in a metaphorical "ghost" form for the sake of the reader.
Personally, considering the manner in which everything happened, I think it's the latter.
It's funnier to just imagine Peter as a ghost. Particularly since people will compare Otto/MJ to Norman/Gwen (despite the wildly different circumstances).
Ghost-Peter: I already lived through one Sins Past. I won't live through another.
Hulk: Technically Bugman wouldn't since Bugman not alive right now.

Moreover, Ock's mysterious, sudden response to the mugger in Avenging Spidey -- the one he wrote off as simply reflex -- already hinted at something like this, that there'd be a bit of Peter's personality living alongside Ock's. The allusion to the robber from his origin and the possibility of repeating the same mistake of inaction made it all too clear.
Well, I (sort of) called it when I stated in this article that one possibility could be Peter was still there and would act like Doc Ock's conscience. Although I certainly didn't picture him pulling an Obi-Wan Kenobi.
I'll probably write-up something a lot more in-depth later but right now, just like what appears to be going on here, I'm of two minds about this. Yes, I'm glad to see it confirmed that Peter is still "alive" and that Slott didn't drag his return out, but still it does feel a bit soon and that last page reveal was just ridiculous. I'm also glad to see that Mary Jane is potentially out of danger from Doc Ock's sexual advances because there's no way Force Ghost Pete is going to let Doc Ock sleep with her; but still, you have to ask how can MJ STILL not see that "Peter" isn't Peter at this point, especially during that dinner scene?
And yeah, SpOck comes across as a complete and utter douche just like Alpha, only smarter and with Batman's "prep-time." Which I guess is the point, but it doesn't make it any less annoying--especially since he's supposed to be the so-called "hero" of the comic now. And doesn't this (along with the reveal that Peter is still "alive") also undermine the entire supposed premise of Superior Spider-Man that Doc Ock, having reformed, was on a path to redemption? Now it seems like what we're actually going to get is the superhero version of this:

The end of #700 left the impression he was going to try to redeem himself.
15.1 and onwards is him stroking his ego.
Bad news everyone...
Absolutely. I also think that they knew there would be a lot of people sampling/jumping on board with Superior #1----by not having Peter's presence felt and having this be an issue similar to last month's Avenging would likely have left some people cold and had them perhaps drop the book. Now (heh)? I can see a lot more people joining the ride.

I called this happening as well based on that Avenging issue. What really makes this neat is the fact that when Peter does get back the sheer amount of awesome tech he'll be able to invent for his character. I love the fact that Peter can learn from Ock on being a better scientist.
Slott is really crafting a better Spiderman for us all in the long run!! (or should I say Superior)
bizarre. I wonder if this was written into the plans all along or if it was a reaction to the fan vitriol that started spilling early on with the speculation? Curious. Nothing to go into hiding about. Didn't they do a "ghost of Captain America" issue of Thor at one point? Written by JMS..
