    It's open to several interpretations.
    spoilers:
Is it Peter's soul buried deep in his body? Is it lingering near the body? Is it a duplicate of Peter's consciousness? At any rate, it's amusing to see Peter play a twisted Ben Kenobi role to Otto. His own Uncle Ben Kenobi.

Ghost Peter should be in a Marvel Dark book with Ghost Hellstrom and Strange. And the Man-Thing. And maybe Ghost Rider.

Also there should be a Red Ghost Peter, who represents the Peter in stories like Back in Black and Grim Hunt (ie. the real "Superior" Spider-Man). They both struggle to oust Doc Ock, but the suspense is which one will be in full control once they do.

I love and hate the idea. I love it because it's definitely a new story element. I hate it because it's kind of hokey.

I reviewed it, with some pictures, here if anyone is interested.

I knew it would be something like this, I think PP is locked deep within his own mind hence the "link" from 700

Not surprising at all. Very predictable.

The surprise was that the back door was revealed in the very first issue. It would have been more fun if we were kept in the dark for a little while longer.
But apart from that, a solid adventure.

I kind of agree with you on that one, but I suspect this will curb some of the rage of Peter's death.

We kinda knew Peter was still around in some capacity, didn't we? It's not like this made me think "OMG, this is genious!". I still prefer Batman and Detective Comics, but might continue to check it out.

I don't really see a reason to drag the revelation out; it's clear this is the book concept going forward. And it deals with one of the biggest criticisms of ASM 700, which is that Ock's sudden desire to do good felt forced. Now we know that Pete is still inside his head.

There's absolutely no way anyone would've taken the status quo change seriously had they not relaunched. The relaunch is as much a marketing move as it is a storytelling measure.

If it wasn't a given that Peter's influence would still be around in some form or another, we should have gussed anyway that his role is not yet finished, based on Uncle Ben telling him that he can't rest until he stops Otto running around ruining his legacy as Peter Parker and as Spider-Man. So that's the mission that's keeping him on Earth.
