Funny, I just spent a few minutes looking for a mystery cover from the same series.
My guess is that Lois does not actually say "Aug 14" (way to spoil the cover gimmick, Mr News Stand Guy!).
I'm guessing she's actually saying "No thanks, I'm full." While Lana adds "I would, but I am on this low carb diet, you see..."My blog.
