Default Would EARTH 2 benefit to become like Marvel's Ultimate line?

I've been loving Earth 2 and realized a week back that this title has accomplished what Marvel's Ultimate line of comics has, it has created a new universe that takes old characters and concepts and just runs with them with all new ideas and progressive story telling. I'm sorry but on Earth Prime the books are mostly already coming across as same old, same old, IMO. The one issue for me with Earth 2 is that it is juggling a LOT of characters as it's supposed to be about an entire planet, and I thought it might be better for Earth 2 if it became three monthly titles instead of just one.

Marvel's Ultimate Comics has done this formula successfully to date by letting it's writers do whatever they want in this new universe, while keeping the ultimate universe concentrated in only three titles at a time, so the concept doesn't become too diluted. I see it that Earth 2 could be discontinued and then let it be a banner at the top of just a small handful of titles. One title for the JSA (the premiere super hero team), one title for the World Army starring Khan and the Sandmen (for spy intrigue), and one title for a singular character or duo pair (it could be PG & Huntress or Dr. Fate, etc).

    What do you think?
    Pull list:
Adventure Time, Batgirl, Batman & Robin, BOP, Earth 2, Guardians of the Galaxy, He-Man, Katana, Nightwing, Shadowman, Swamp Thing, The Ultimates, Ultimate Spider-Man, Worlds' Finest

I definitly think each earth as they are explored should be treated as their own "imprint",with one editor overseeing those titles and a clear indication on the cover to easily let readers know what earth it takes place on.I think they should be rolled out slowly however,to avoid the issues Marvel ran into.

Personally I would want to see Robinson's Legion inspired take on Infinity Inc. at some point.I'd also like to see Worlds' Finest folded back into Earth-2 proper.

I would love to see Earth 2 expanding into its own line but not like Ultimate Marvel since I believe Marvel ruined the line by overflowing it with titles without developing enough ideas for the universe nor thinking too far ahead.

I'm okay with Robinson taking his time to build this world until they can find enough reasons to create more books based on it. Once that happens I would like to see the following titles:

Earth 2: Focusing more on earth shattering events and developing more characters and concepts for it.

Justice Society: The proper team book for classic superheroics.

Infinity Inc.: Robinson already said that he wants to make it a Legion of Super-Heroes analogue and it would be pretty interesting to see the future of Earth 2.

Worlds' Finest: More focus on Earth 2 interacting with other earths, first they need to get rid of Paul Levitz of course.
Comic Books are fun, Comic Book fans not so much.

My one constructive criticism of your choices is that each title has a large group and/or large scale concepts. There isn't one title that has a personal feel/street perspective that a title concentrating on ONE or two characters could accomplish. A singular title would let us get to know the actual people of Earth 2 as opposed to them just being set background in large team books. That's what Miles Morales' book does for Ultimate Comics.

I think that at least to date Worlds' Finest has been a complete failure of a title. It's embarrasing to compare it to Earth 2 since Kara & Helena are from there, it's just been SO incredibly DULL with absolutely NO direction to date. I'd rather the book get cancelled and just get those two onto the JSA team back home.

I think Earth 2 is fine as it is right now. It's kinda working as the Astro City of the New 52.
Speaking of which, when is that book coming back?

Er, I don't think there are singular characters popular enough in Earth 2 to justify their own books, unless we're talking about Alan Scott or Jay Garrick...

Thinking about it, I would love to see a The Flash: Jay Garrick title too.

True but I think the title has potential ,it just needs a creative change.I'd love to see Gail Simone write and a more modern artist partnered with Kevin Maguire. And of course a return to PG's old costume ,maybe with a few tweaks to set it apart from pre-flashpoint.

    Why?

I don't know, to me the appeal of Earth 2 is the entirety of the world building and the mass of characters moving inside of the title. Is not simply a book about superheroes, is about the world around them, that's what makes it intriguing. I'm afraid "solo" adventures or spin-offs would just be watered down books too dependent from the original to actually be interesting.

I think they have to finish developing the main Earth 2 book first, though, before developing potentially lame knock-offs . . . look how many screw-ups they've had with main DC heroes being butchered in the New 52.

And, some of us thoroughly enjoy the current writer on Worlds' Finest. Don't you dare put somebody like Lobdell, Daniel, Krul, or Nocenti on it!

I don't see any benefit to wanting to emulate the Ultimate Marvel Universe. That line has always seemed to me to be something they kicked around at but did little to make it a full universe. I would rather Earth 2 and any related books be treated as Earth Two was before Crisis. Published as part of the regular DCU just on a different earth and if you wanted to crossover for a story, you did it and it was fun. No reason to segregate it they way Ultimate is.

Oh My God Yes! I can't believe I've never thought of this before. It doesn't have to be a full-blown imprint, ie: Vertigo, but it would be nice to have a couple titles that took place in the Earth 2 universe. That being said, I think I'd rather read about an updated Justice League rather than Society if Earth 2 had multiple titles. I'd definitely still read it if it focused on characters like the JSA (I do read it monthly, and it's legit), but it wouldn't be near as cool.

My ideal Earth 2 would be a shameless ripoff of Ultimate Marvel. There'd be 4 titles, Justice League (with a cooler name, like The Ultimates), Batman, Superman, and Teen Titans (with some mini-series obviously). DC really needs this actually. Ultimate (Spider-Man specifically) is great because you get to read about all those amazing stories that happened before your generation, without the shitty art and boring storytelling.
