why should I care about hippolyta? what all history does she have in the MU proper? is she good, neutral or evil? and this throws the "balance" of character types way out of whack-- with valkyrie and Mirage, already having ties to the Asgardian culture, Hippy's Olympian ties on top of it, this squeezes out Misty's street level POV..

I think you should care, because she's the latest in a short line of independently functioning superheroines ( in her case, she's actually something of an anti-hero) that Marvel is finally giving some development and some kind of push.

Between this, X-men, UXF, JiM-Sif, and Captain Marvel, Marvel is really upping the ante on their anxilliary and female characters.

And surely you don't think Misty's the only street-level heroine on the team? The girls on the cover aren't the full roster. There's rumours that Black Cat will be one of the ones approved by Misty, I do believe.

Well, the point of this team is that they're all over the Marvel U.

Valkyrie = Asgard
Misty = Street Level
Dani = Mutants
Hippolyta = Olympus

So expect Cosmic, Magic, Teenager, and so on.
