    Default The Angoulême Grand Prix

As you can see, this year has an amazing list of cartoonist and writers as canidates; all masters of the field.

So, who are or is your choices to be the winner? Me, De Crecy or Otomo though I wouldn't complain if Moore won. Actually, I wouldn't complain who would win, this is seriously a tough choice.

Jeez, all are worthy. I'm going to go with Pierre Christin (love his political work with Bilal), but it would be interesting to see a trifecta of Christin, Otomo, and Moore honored for their impact in developing more mature styles in three very different comics markets, Euro/French, Japanese/manga, and Anglophonic/US-UK.

Pffff.... I'm glad it's not up to me... I haven't read enough to know all the works these creators wrote to form a good opinion. I've read works of about half these creators and from what I've read I'll probably have to go with Marjane Satrapi, just because Persepolis is so fantastic.

I'd like it to be Posy Simmonds, but she won't win it and anyhow, it'd make Guardian columnists far too smug. I'd love Hermann to win but it'll be De Crecy or Christin I reckon.

Love Larcenet kind of humor. But i would vote for Pierre Christin i think.
