    Default Superior Spider-Man vs. Face/Off

So I seen the John Travolta and Nick Cage movie Face/Off recently for the who knows how manyth time. I couldn't help but think of Superior Spider-Man during some scenes. The whole good guy bad guy switching places dynamic. Couldn't help putting Peter and Ock in some of those scenes and think what if.

What if Peter survived in Ocks body? What if the comics took some of the cues from the movie?

Peter hanging out with the Sinister Six. Having to team up with Norman while the same time trying to fix things. Knowing if the secret is exposed it could put everything in danger.

Ock actually doing some good as Spider-Man. Kinda like how Castor Troy was doing some good as Sean Archer in the movie. Repair his relationship with his wife and kid. Like repairing Peter's relationship with MJ.

Funny scene I thought of like the movie. Like if Ock answered the phone at the Avengers Tower.

    Ock: Avengers Tower. Spider-Man speaking.
Peter: So if you're Spider-Man, that must mean I'm Doctor Octopus.

Just some thoughts while I'm bored here taking a break at work.

That actually sounds like it could be an interesting scenario. If it hadn't taken place as the very last arc of Amazing and if it had lasted more than 3 issues, it would definitely be something to explore as possibly a case study in what makes Peter Parker and Otto Octavius who they are. As they begin to absorb each other's memories, they'd take on each other's mannerisms while retaining their sense of their original identities, blurring the lines between who they really are and who they're pretending to be.

It could even turn out something like what happened to Faith when she and Buffy switched bodies in that two-part arc from Season 4 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, with Ock eventually coming to see things through Peter's eyes and memories in such a way that it gives him a whole new perspective on how he's lived his life and the guilt and self-hatred from that ironically drive him to nearly kill Spider-Man in his old body. As far as anybody seeing would know, it'd just be Spider-Man unleashing years of rage on his worst enemy for all the evil things he's done over the years and the innocent lives he's destroyed in the process, but in reality, it'd be Otto more-or-less literally beating "himself" up from sheer self-disgust.
