Since politics is a sensitive issue in comics I'm not really sure what Superman's politics is except he doesn't want any one to die.

Heh, excellent point. Being President would be a huge step down for Superman.

Bruce could likely make better use of the office, but could you really see him leaving Gotham and being surrounded by Secret Service, at all hours?

I think the new question should be "why the hell would either of these heroes want to burden themselves with the U.S. Presidency?"

It would disturb the balance of power around the world, and I honestly believe Clark would hate the job. Action Comics #9 showed us what it would be like if Superman was President; the idea of Brainiac sitting in for Cal while he's off saving the world is not comforting. Did the people elect an alien and his supercomputer robot stand-in? I don't think so.

    Superman can be First Gentleman.

Irene Adler: “I would have you right here on this desk until you begged for mercy twice.”
Sherlock: “I’ve never begged for mercy in my life.”
    Irene: “Twice.”

Funny: that's almost exactly what DCAU Luthor said.

Post-Crisis Supes got around that with the birthing chamber origin. Other versions could either be so popular the repeal that law or run as Clark Kent.

There was a Silver Age story where Jimmy was knocked unconscious and dreamed Superman was president. He balanced the budget by finding sunken pirate treasure. It was awesome.

Superman all the way. The ultimate compassionate individual fighting for truth and justice. Standing up to govt corruption like in his first appearance. But willing to stand up to bullies and any one who picks on the little guy.

I agree with exactly what he said.

Detective Chimp for president. He'd put those scumbags in their place.
