It's always something off putting to me about Mckelvie's art. He draws well but I never like the designs he comes up with.
The best at regular wear are definitely Chiang, Pichelli, Cammo and David Marquez does good stuff too.

Maybe more heroes should read Models INC.

Why doesn't McKelvie dress his characters from Lord & Taylor?

I'd like to see more superheroes with secret identities. Dressing them nicely for their civilian costumes is awesome, though.

I can't imagine why young heroes wouldn't have secret IDs, honestly... unless they wanna be young celebs (hello thar, Alpha!)

I just find it really dull looking. You could go nuts with designs, but nope, shorts and skirts all black. Bleck.

I've never liked it simply because IMO it goes against what the school is about. School uniforms is about putting professionalism / appearance before self expression, which just seems odd when applied to either the Xavier or JG schools.

I kind of like the black clothing, that way the colorists can't really screw it up. Materials and color count for a lot in clothing, anything good can be ruined with the wrong rendering or w/e, but colorists probably make a dollar an hour, so I don't hold it against them.

I dig the trend of fashion fetishism, especially when it comes to mutants as they should be the ones pushing the envelope anyhow. I prefer spandex and loud cotumes though. This midway mama, half civilian half uniform thing is just so -Charles Xavier integrationalist.
