It has been like 15 years since I last read comics. I was wondering what series I should start with to get back into the avengers. I see that there is a pretty long New Avengers series? There is also Avenger Disassembled. Assembled etc.
Looking around on websites it is hard to find chronology always and reviews. So I am asking you guys. Best place in your opinion to get back into things?

Avengers issue #1 from the Marvel NOW! line is a good place to start.

I'm not entirely sure how you want to get back into comics. Do you want to get back into them by reading them monthly? Or do you want to just stick to reading past trades? Originally Posted by jman115

jman115 I recently returned after a 30 year absence from comics. I found starting with Avengers Disassembled a good place to get back in. Followed with New Avengers, then Mighty Avengers and Young Avengers and all the events tied to the Avengers (House of M, Civil War, Secret Invasion etc). Also caught up with the Brubaker Captain America run which I really enjoyed. First on Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited and then bought the TPBs of the one's I liked best. But if you don't have the time or money for all of that, then the Marvel NOW relaunches are a great jumping in point. Enjoy! Originally Posted by jman115

I would also recommend you read Young Avengers which takes place after Avengers: Disassembled and partially before and partially after New Avengers vol. 1.
I agree you should read Runaways.
And Mighty Avengers starting with Dark Reign is great (the whole Dan Slott run).
If you like certain solo characters or other teams, I can try to point you in the the direction of good runs for them such as the Jonathan Hickman Fantastic Four/FF run.
