It was an attempt at sick humor from a guy who is not particularly funny. Millar's interviews tend to be half shock value, half self-aggrandizing.

Marty Pasko has done some amazingly informative interviews with John Suntries on Wordballoon over the last couple years. I always get excited when I see his name in the feed, you know it'll be about 3 hours long!

The Millar quote is indefensible, but I wonder if he was attempting to craft a sick joke out of a gross misunderstanding/juvenile interpretation of the salaciously overly-documented predilections of Wm. Marston. Much ink has been spilled over Marston's penchant for unorthodox sexual relationships, but not enough in remembering his (admittedly sometimes misguided) efforts at furthering female empowerment. He is, after all, responsible for the following quote:

Is that really what you take from that? "Force, strength, and power" being absent from the feminine archetype, even girls don't want to be "girls." How is that advocating submission?

And oh, Marston lived consensually with two women? Well, that surely bears repeating.
