Wow...nobody likes The Flash? It seemed like one of the top 10 New 52 titles that everybody was raving about for the first 3 or 4 months, but then everybody suddenly stopped talking about it. That's a shame too because it's a title that keeps on getting better and better.

Im new to this forum and this is my first post. I've started to get back into reading comics again and don't know where to start with the new 52 titles. I've ordered the first Batman and Justice League Volumes but should I buy all of the other parallel titles such as night wing, batgirl etc or just stick to the main titles I'm interested in? Will I miss out on major story lines if I don't read everything? Also if there are any titles that you recommend please do so.

    Thanks.
taste is subjective. read on your own, then figure out what you think is the best. don't let people herd you into liking something because they like it. Now go out and pick up some trades/comics/etc. and find out your own tastes, not others.

Yea it was really freakin great for a while there. It was even tempting me to get into older Flash stories. The art is always fantastic regardless, but after a while the story just got bland... There's some really lackluster storytelling going on.. Introduce baddies-go to alternate dimension-villain team up-big bad that's bigger than the combined villains-Flash close to losing-??? I wonder whats gonna happen next!? /sarcasm

I disagree with this post in every way possible. Come on, the whole point of a forum is to get fellow fans' opinions. The point is to absorb everyone else's opinions and spit them back out with your own thoughts and experience on the matter. You know how a lot of people say "Batman is a must-read?" He should take that in mind and read Batman and other things that interest him, especially the ones that match with the forum's opinion.

I'd personally recommend just about everything in the dark line

What if he ends up hating Batman and therefore doesn't take in regard the opinions of any forumer from there on? I'd certainly be pissed if someone recommended something I didn't like. You can't be objective about art because there is no set standard for greatness. He should figure out his own tastes and find things he wants to read, not what the collective hivemind of cbr wants to read. I got into comics by going out and buying some issues on a whim with no research whatsoever, and I enjoyed them immensely.

Hi guys. So glad I joined a forum.

I had already ordered batman and justice league volume 1 but last night decided to give batman and Aquaman ago as everyone seems to have good things to say about them. Justice league dark seems like my sort of thing as well so I may give that a go as well.

Thanks a lot I'm looking forward to discussing them.

It looks like many readers have tired of this title. Along with Action Comics, this is the main title that has lost most readers since the start of the New 52. The two first months The Flash was the 4th most selling New 52 book, and Action Comics was the second most selling. In November 2012 Action Comics had dropped down to number 7, and the Flash was the 17th most selling title!
If my words and grammar are not correct, that's because English is not my native language! My English would have been far worse if I hadn't read original comics for decades though!

Hi, I'm also very new to comics. Of the ones I have read I'd definitely reccomend Batman and Aquaman. Green Lantern started out really good, but I'd leave it a little while to see where they are going with the rise of the 3rd army story - not a particular highlight to be honest! But definitely definitely Batman!! Justice League is ok.
