    Default Phantom Stranger 4 Preview/Discussion

    http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/01/...nger-4-preview

It's really amazing how night and day it is already, with the addition of J.M. DeMatteis. The book...it's actually populated by characters!

    Seriously, I enjoyed it.

I could have sworn the recent CBR interview said DeMatteis' first issue was #6, but the sooner the better I guess!

Old married couple (shades of Jay and Joan Garrick!)
    DeMatteis (fun!)
    Supernatural Shenanigans!
    Really Nice Art!
If Didio's name wasn't attached to this I'd be all over it.

Oh god that cover. Constantine looks like Tintin. XD

And yeah, it's stunning how much better this reads with DeMatteis on, and Phantom Stranger's family actually feel like real people.

Looks great so far. Only problem: one of his closeups looks really bad. His face just doesn't look right in it AT ALL.

CBR was just following the solicit info. Didio announced weeks ago on his Facebook that DeMatteis would come in with issue 4. I believe Newsarama also had it as issue 6.

His eyes are not lined up....otherwise, I like the detail work.

Just the fact that it's you, the guy who absolutely hated this comic before, saying that, both impresses and shocks me at the same time.

I already really enjoyed this book the way it was, but now I'm looking forward to it even more.

    Smart man, that Dan Didio.
    I seriously miss Captain Mar-Vell.

All you want, none of the issues have been heavily relying on each other.

I'd like to think I respond to quality.

This is quality, as I see it. What came before...was not.

Same way you responded to Ann Nocenti's Green Arrow as quality.

    At the beginning, absolutely.

Just as I respond to the current Ann Nocenti Catwoman as quality.
