The picture probably is taken before Zack Snyder applies his filter and color correction.

Agreed, especially on the blue -- I think it looks fantastic. The yellow looks quite dingy.

The differences might be the lights reflecting on the suit. For instance the first shot is him walking under the light and the camera not picking up the colours. But the new pic is him walking away from the previous light and under a new light in the hallway therefore bringing out the colour in the suit. Either that or the magazine just glossed up the image.

I think you hit this on the head, ssupes. I think this suite is designed to have different shades of blue in different light fixtures. This suite is going to shine when it needs to, but intimidate as well in the right circumstances. I love it. The classic is the classic, obviously, but this is my favorite rendition of the suite yet. I wish they would of used it in the new comic continuity and new suite but I understand distancing the movie and the comic book from the audience. Maybe Scott Snyder and Jim Lee's Man of Steel will have a look closer to this.

But yeah, those soldiers look like they stepped right off the set of Dr. Who or Red Dwarf. What is on their helmets? lol. But still, Supes looks great here, and that's what is most important.

    That's far from cartoonish.

The colors reminds Dean Cain's Superman suit.

I don't understand why people are so color-phobic and think anything that isn't black or gray or brown is gaudy and cartoonish.

Agreed, but it goes the other way too, with those that are against colors that are slightly subdued, because they are somehow not as good as primary colors.

I don't understand why navy blue and wine red are so inherently horrible for Superman to wear on film when he's worn them in the comics and cartoons at varying times. Nor do I understand how darker shades of red and blue = "color-phobic."
