He should be ashamed of Sucker Punch.

I watched that movie a few months ago. It isn't that bad. Visually is quite stunning.

I believe the dingy costume is a relic from his planet's and his family's past. It's not like he's purposefully choosing something muted. Superman has to bring overcome the darkness of Krypton (e.g. Zod) before the bright colors can begin to infuse the storytelling canvas.

The story was a bit of a mess, but yeah I didn't think it was so horrible like most people.

I can't look at a movie filled with these girls in those costumes and go "wow, this movie sucks"

Honestly, its no worse than anything Frank Miller's ever directed.

We're talking about it being ashamed of being a Superman movie, not being an abortion.

Smallville wasn't a Superman movie or a Superman television show.

Nope, it was your typical CW angst soap opera.

And I just went over the fact why its dark. It was made in 1940. Even anime of the 90s is reletively dark, which is why when they remaster them they make the colors brighter 99 percent of the time. The colors are meant to be clearly bright, and are still bold enough to give that impression, not washed out.
would you describe Snow White's colours, released in the 30's, dark? Far brighter and colourful than the Fleischer cartoons and a decade earlier.

No. Fleischer made those cartoons with a particular tone in mind, mooted colours being part of that.

Snow Whites animation, colors, anatomy, and every single thing is far better done than the Superman animation. Down to the physical copies of the cels themselves which I'm sure were preserved better than the Fliecher animations since even in the best Fleischer DVDs you can tell theres still wear. Plus its Disney, if you've seen it recently (Even release after the original release) chances are they've given it a remaster far better than anything Fleischer could do, being a much more wealthy company.
