That is true, Austin is awesome.
You yankees are funny.
Lol, I'm joking. Thought gotta tell, I don't see the appeal in these covers. I get the "state patriotism" but the image per se isn't that great really, Cat, Arrow and Vibe look rather stiff, and the flag itself looks lamely photoshoped in. I guess printed is better.

Keep in mind too that you could order any of these online. So, if I wanted to go buy 100 Puerto Rican editions, I could have from DCBS or somewhere else. A local shop is probably only ordering that state's issue.
Today, I make no demands... no threats! But, one day, I shall voice demands -- and all shall obey them!
Quite a few of the popular Dallas comic shops closed down over the years. Big Bob's, Kaboom!, and a few others. The only ones which have been long-time mainstays (As in since the 90s), as far as I remember, are Titan & Lone Star.
Zeus does well, although they started up in the 2000s (I think it's been 10yrs?).
I remember when going to Toronto back in the early to mid-90s, I was wowed by how many comic shops Toronto had in comparison to Dallas.
I don't have any allegiance nor patriotism toward Texas & Dallas. I've lived in Dallas the majority of my life, but have lived in other areas, as well, and have been to every state except Hawaii, Alaska, and Maine......Texas isn't close to being the worst state in the US.
I'd rank Arkansas as the worst state, followed by states such as Oklahoma, Wyoming, Louisiana (Although I love New Orleans), the Dakotas, Alabama, etc....
The states I liked most were California, state of Washington, Florida, NY, Oregon, North Carolina, and, believe it or not, Utah.
Thing is, with such a large land mass, you have numerous small towns in Texas which fit the negative stereotype. The big cities (Houston, Dallas, Austin, even San Antonio) don't particularly fit those stereotypes, although you'll still run across a few idiots every now and then.
At least Mississippi looks "pretty," and I remember parts of Alabama looking nice, as well, but you definitely can't say that about Oklahoma and Arkansas.

You are wrong, the secessionist movement of Texas has been alive and well for years, if not decades before Obama. I heard rumblings of secessionist movement in Texas throughout my 38 years on this planet, not just in the last 5 years. It was there under Bush, under Clinton, under Bush, probably under Reagan ( don't remember much during this time politically hey I was a kid, but remember during this time we had the oil boom while the rest of country was under the recession of the early 80's) Its the media that brought nationwide attention to it with Obama (it didn't help with Perry drawing attention to it either). Just look at the recent election, there was one district that Obama only got 5% and the citizens were treated as racists, yet there was no word mentioned of the precincts that Romney received 0.

Alabama has great geography but the metropolitan centers leave a bit to be desired...
I don't even think we had an Initiative team either...
Action Comics, Animal Man, Batman Inc, Constantine, Earth 2, Flash, Green Arrow, Justice League, Justice League Dark,JLA, Saga, Stormwatch, Swamp Thing, Supergirl, Superman & Uncanny Avengers
DC really needs to put a super-team in the South somewhere. Just be aware that they all need to be able to fly, because you're not going to find THAT many tall buildings...
Maybe they can buy out the Southern Knights.
It doesn't matter what the writer, artist, or editor had in mind when they created it, or what they said in an interview;
all that matters is what is on the page.

Just saw this elsewhere and had to bring it over here:
"Say what you will about the South, but nobody retires and moves up North..." :)
