I prefer the DD 12 cover myself, but there were a lot of great choices to consider this year!

I don't mind the comics they picked, but they didn't pick the best cover from those series.
    Daredevil for instance.

    That and not this?

There are similar examples for the others, too lazy to search for them.

This list is invalid due to the lack of Simon Bisley's Hellblazer covers.

Its a pleasure to see covers like these, beautifully rendered AND pretty much always relevant to the story, as opposed to just, what, maybe five or six years ago where (and sorry for picking on marvel especially), for example, each month we were subject to month after month of Romita Jr's Spidey covers that were more iconic than telling of WHAT THE COMIC WAS ABOUT (I do like Romita a lot, though). Its maddening to look back at those covers or DD (another great example) and just wonder if Marvel had commissioned a stack of inventory covers from their artists, where the cover looked great but gave no indication of what was happening underneath.

What is great about the covers for the Daredevil #18-20 is that the word Daredevil is filled with blood and each issue has less blood in it than before and #20 is almost empty. Brilliance.

These are the covers you're picking as the best covers of the year?! UGH!! You could throw a rock at most DC Comics or Vertigo titles, especially Hellblazer, and pick a better cover!! No Capullo, no Lee, no Van Sciver, no Reis, no Deodato, Finch, Kubert, Land, and I can go on and on and none of the covers y'all picked would be on this list!! CBR really needs to let the fans write in their choices and then we would have a great list of covers that people would mostly agree with and enjoy, not these under-creative covers!

This is the cover that haunts me, even months later...

Though it was hard to find a copy...

I really like that you're showcasing covers, but I find the decision to plaster a virtual sticker on the front puzzling, and unnecessary. would have looked better if you'd left it off to the side some, and/or had it not appear on the enlarged version.

It's all in the eye of the beholder I guess. Did the person creating this list only read those 15 books all year long? I only see 2 or 3 that should be considered for a top list compared to what I saw all 2012 year long. There are some really boring covers that got selected for this list. Hell, you could easily remove 12 of them and plug in all of the Fables covers from last year to make it a much better list and that's without the skill of talent extraordinaire James Jean.

I bet the #300 cover will be high on their 2013 list. ;)

I saw this cover a couple of weeks ago and it is just amazing! This cover just completely sums up John Constantine! I am going to miss this book!!

So... none of the Batwoman covers are good enough? Especially this one?

Tell me now, what makes, say, cover number two better than this cover? What makes it so much better?

    ...

    I'm waiting.

    X-Men Legacy covers were brilliant.
