REVIEW: Invincible, #99

"Invincible" #99 is quite literally filled with splash pages drawn by Ryan Ottley to measure out the story set up by Robert Kirkman in anticipation of the series' centennial issue.

I give this issue a 4 out of 5 stars. Seeing as this reviewer also gave Thunderbolts #1 the same 3 out of 5 that he gives Invincible #99, I'll consider my 4 out of 5 more accurate.

I'd give it 3.5 stars (maybe 4 just for the art work). But my feelings on the issue contents are almost exactly the same as the reviewer's.

I did give that extra for the artwork myself. If not for the artwork, it'd have been a 3.

Too bad that this...

"Still, I found myself feeling just a bit slighted, as though this issue were the ultimate decompressed tale."

...was followed-up and negated by this...

"I know it isn't and I am well aware of the amount of story Kirkman poured into this issue"

Because I'm certainly not well-aware that it isn't decompressed. Nowhere near enough happened to justice that number of pages, the price tag, or the lead-up and suspense.
