Much like Utopia Scott is just cribbing of the ideas of greater men and and it will end in disaster because of his own incompetence
I'm so bored with this martyrdom routine, this halo all you X-men love to polish. Self-described soldiers adorned in an "X" with no dedication to what it actually stands for.

The issue was a bit of a miss, Beast and Logan's attitude's were pretty horrid, while I enjoy Beast being a troll usually, I wanted someone to punch him in the face on every panel this time. And boy does his new look suuuuck, no goggles even. Bleh, I hope all you cat beast haters are happy with this crap at least.

Kitty was awesome, Teen Henry was awesome, Teen Jean was awesome, so it was okay.

The E-Team scenes didn't really add much to anything, they really need their own book already.

No. What happened is Emma and Mastermind raped Jean's mind, making her unstable.

Sorry Brevoort, Alonso and Lowe, but Jean Grey is a classic character. She'll outlive you regardless. :)

As opposed to Logan who was totally original in opening his school and has already gotten students hurt and kidnapped because of his personal grudges?

Bendis has done a balancing act of powers, Scott and Beast 2 of the weakest main X-Men have been amped Magneto the powerhouse has been weakened which means he's in for a long stay on team hero/anti-hero and Emma has had a power removed the writers constantly need to work around. Magik is an exception, an already powerful mutant has been amped and given her actions with her brother means it's inevitable that she will become a villain

    Cribbing? Really?
    Was "stealing" just too juvenile.
I mean, I guess. Xavier DID have a patent on education systems. Before him they....No, wait....

I thought this was a brilliant issue and a fitting end to this introductory arc.

Jean is definitely the center-piece of this issue and I loved her rationale for the X-men staying in the future. I'm surprised no one here has noted how heroic and self-sacrificing her decision is - Jean has basically resigned herself to the fact that when they return to the past, they'll be mind-wiped and will end up living the torturous lives they've just found out about, which in her case actually means dying! And yet, she's willing to accept her (future) death...as long as she can do something to make the world a better place in the present!

Her antipathy towards Scott is also intriguing in this context. She knows that she's destined to end up with this guy...she knows that he will cheat on her shortly before her death...she knows what he becomes. So its understandable she kinda hates him right now. But she also knows that when they go back then (according to the plan), she'll end up with him and go through all that anyway...which makes for some real angst there...

I will join a lot of other people here in expressing my absolute disgust for Wolverine's rant here. It goes completely against the characterization of Wolverine established even in the most recent books! In Consequences, Wolverine talks Cyclops out of suicide and even admits that he looked up to him once and that he feels there is still some good left in him. And now...he actually seriously considers killing Scott's TEENAGE self over things his future self would do?!! What more, he holds a VOTE for it on the grounds of a SCHOOL in the presence of his STUDENTS?!!

I doubt even the Logan who first joined the X-men, a borderline psychopath, would have done something as vile as this...

He just wants Scott out of the way, because he knows it's the only way he'll get a shot at Jean. As always, the "noble" samurai.

Perhaps having Logan recall every detail of his unbelievably horrible and tedious life is finally weighing down on him, driving him crazy.

Yeah. Seriously speaking now, that and Origins was the worst thing that could have been done with the character. He went from a rather unique (not as much as when he began, since he had already been copied up the whazoo) character with a misterious background, unliked by most, to a boring blowhard who had seen all done all, and suddenly, out of the blue, was everyone's best bud. Ugh! I can't stand Wolverine anymore. Even past appearences of the character, which I used to love, are going sour on me. Congratulations Marvel.

    Peace

Agreed. That hairy feck knows everything and everyone. "OH yea, I was there, Bub. Remember me?" and "It didnt' go down like that. The history books got it wrong. I was there." Gawd that's annoying. And ...oooh new characters? Nope. They're OLD characters, come back to haunt Logan. From all corners of the globe, this guy has enemies and besties throughout time and space. Its so obnoxious. I mean, talk about over exposure complaints. This guy IS over exposure.

Are the characters even aware that there were populated planets around that star? As the reader we were aware of the implications from eating the star but who else was there to witness that the genocide took place?
