Listening to Jean I think she knows they'll go back eventually. She wants to fix the future as it is so that when looking at their messed up lives it will feel worth it at least.

It is not their intention to change the past, but make sure that all their sacrifices were worth it. In other words, change the present.

Indeed. The x-men are being unfair to (both) Scotts at this time, but that is because he just killed Xavier. They are not measuring his whole life at this point. So I think this all is intended and will play into Mystique plans. I cannot wait to see her in action again!.

I didn't think so. Emma pretty much confirmed to Scott that they were here to take Hope. Captain America was convinced at this point and I doubt it wasn't going to end any differently. Steve and Scott were on good terms before that all happened.

I linked it to you on another thread which I'm guessing you chose to ignore, regardless Hope wasn't ready for the PF so it didn't matter either way, if they followed cyke's plan or not. We've seen panels during that event where it shows.

Great issue. Loved Bendis' portrayal of Jean. As for Wolverine, for what it's worth I don't think he was seriously proposing killing Scott, just venting his anger. Not in a classy or helpful way but that's Wolverine for you.

Really liked the issue, and since Kitty is my favorite X-Man, I am beyond ecstatic that she will be one of the central characters as she is often relegated to the sidelines on an issue-to-issue basis in the overstuffed cast of WATXM (the date issue and micro-invaders storyline being the exceptions). That cover to the next ish looks great.

From a practical perspective, the O5 obviously needed to stay in the current timeline. Otherwise, there wouldn't be a series. But I think Bendis just about sold it from a character perspective. I can believe Jean wanting to stay until things are righted.

I also think Bendis is getting more of a flair for these characters as the run progresses. Not one piece of dialogue sounded wrong to me.

Of course it's a one sided story here. How is it not? The O5 were dragged out of their timeline by a dying Beast for his own reasons. They can't get back to their own timeline on their own, they can't leave the school. The only one who a sense of the larger story, Jean, just learned she has telepathy and she has read: Her emotionally distraught ex-husband, a rage addicted Canadian and the one guy who set this whole thing in motion.

No one else has any idea what is going on. Scott's getting nothing but accusations, no one will talk to Warren, Hank is busy trying to save his future self's life, Bobby is dealing with this by joking with his future self.

So far the only positive thing that has happened to them is a relatively neutral party, Kitty, has decided to step in for them. But even that was something someone else did for them.

Your proving my statement correct and it still stands as your ignoring what was said in the first few pages of the issue.

You can be mad at the decision she's made but it's irrelevant as she's read 3 minds so her views are not based on Logan and Beast alone.

She read R.Cyke's mind to hence the big reason why she doesn't want to deal with T.Cyke and calls him out as to why she chooses to stay and doesn't want to be near him. (one-sided would mean she only knows one side of the issue of what's going on which isn't the case as the O5 went out to learn for THEMSELVES)

Besides that the current X-men want to send them back along with OG.Beast but again we see as to what happen

All of this is being done to keep this already THIN story ongoing, and all this at the expense of one character is just, well its just terrible IMO. And I mean didn't she scan Wolverines mind too, she should be shitting bricks being around a psychopath and a murderer like him. But like I said, the O5 stuff has just been terrible.

I think this. Prof X didn't go on many missions because of his wheelchair but since he could monitor them telepathically he didn't have to. Kitty will need to keep her eyes on them directly by going along.
