Ok, now the social serendipity is getting crazy.
Just before I got off work, a nurse from a lab came in to do some blood work. Turns out she's a former paramedic and used to work with and was friends with my dad. They haven't spoken in two decades. So I just passed along her contact info(at her behest) to my dad so they can reconnect.
