I've heard nothing but good things about the acting. I've also heard that Spielberg's knack for visuals is still top-notch. (Which doesn't surprise me - The Adventures of Tintin had great animation, and War Horse, despite its flaws, was a gorgeous movie.).

I'm sorry to hear that, Michael. Hopefully you can at least get a good reference out of it.

I've never heard of anyone who watched it who didn't like it.

Both of mine dropped like a sack of potatoes last night, but still slept in too late today. I'm taking medication, so if they don't wake me up, I sleep in too. We're all fucked up from the holiday break. Looks like we're skipping nap time again today. Fucking fuck.

Also, the hubby is home sick. I'm surprised he's not in here pestering me yet.

My hubby says the Judge Dredd comics are shaped funny, and won't fit in our boxes.

Others have said the same, but I will confirm, it's the pretty dresses! Pretty people in pretty dresses. LOVE the Oscars.

I'm also really great at predicting who will win. The popular pretty girl, sometimes the pretty boy, but usually the cool indy dude, the director of the cool indy movie, the popular movie, the cool nerd movie wins special effects, sound, stuff that nobody fucking cares about unless you're a nerd, and a black person is usually thrown in there somewhere. I'm a terrible fucking person for loving it so much.

The kids are being sent home from school because of the weather. There's severe drifting in the Northside desert and farm roads.

Normally I'm sure they'd be thrilled, but today was the first day of ski club for Connor. So he's not going to get to ski because the weather is too bad.

That sucks. Poor Connor. You should buy him something. Or build him a weather machine.

I get the impression that today people younger than me are celebrating newly announced albums by musicians from their youth. I am feeling sooo old.
