They could have Perry Mason working for them and it wouldn't matter. The only way they could get Paramount to hand over the distribution rights would be to buy them and the value of owning those rights is worth a lot more to Paramount than whatever Disney would/could be able to pay for them.

Supernatural is not the same as extraterrestrial. Indy 4 might have been a lot better off if they never actually showed the aliens or their space ship, and preserve the mystery of the beings a little bit. Actually showing the ship/aliens would have been the equivalent of Indy meeting/talking to God after opening the Ark, or meeting Jesus after drinking the Holy Grail.
My biggest problem with Indy 4 is that Indy is pretty much ultimately meaningless to the final ending of the movie.

Eh, Comics is a pretty cool guy...
And making profits doesn't mean a lick bit of quality and reaction from the fanbase. Hell 2012 as a movie made $700+ million worldwide... but its pretty shitty and a by the numbers end of the world flick.
Don't ever doubt the power of Disney....and its legal team. If they can make it happen...they will.

You want some power not to doubt? Try the power of money. And the money to be made through ownership of the rights to the Indy franchise trumps whatever Disney has to offer Paramount. Because, aside from money, they have no legal grounds to challenge Paramount's ownership of the rights.

It isn't Friday the 13th, but it wasn't geriatric bullshit either, Die Hard wasn't PG-13 bloodless action. Sometime in Die Hard people died hard, and they said "fuck" while they were doing it.
The Last Stand is being made by one of the best directors working today, A Good Day to Die Hard is being made by the guy who did The Omen remake, and the writer of X‑Men Origins: Wolverine & Hitman
There's nothing to see. Paramount owns the rights and Disney has no legal challenge to that ownership. If/when whatever contract Paramount signed to acquire the rights expires, then Disney might outbid them for them. Probably will. But until then, there's really nothing Disney can do about it.
The trailers I see for the Last Stand is a generic action/buddy film where Arnold works with Johnny Knoxville. I mean there is nothing in those trailers that make me wanna watch it. Even if its by the best director going today.
Oh for now...because they said for now they don't plan on anything there. The main focus is Star Wars in 2015.
