I do think that with the Hunger Games coming along, that there is a chance for a superheroine to shine in a big budget film. It just needs the right working team to put it together. Seems like we're still living in the 90's with feeling obligated to put a hot sexy woman with acting issues in a tight fitting costume with the plot taking a backseat. Sometimes it isn't even in the actress. Halle Berry is a good actress, but was in a terrible film with a terrible script. No one could have saved that. I really wanted to see how a Joss Wheadon Wonder Woman film could have worked out. It's really unfortunate that project didn't come to fruition. I think you just need a creative force that will have the right amount of sex appeal which will compliment a character, not make it the glaring trait. That and you need a fantastic story that doesn't draw attention to the hero's gender. I feel like we should have greenlit a Wonder Woman movie by now.
