Default Looking for a good ongoing series

I never was really able to get in to comics when I was younger, the only thing I ever read was Tintin.

Recently I tried The Walking Dead comics and chewed through them. I started looking around to try and find something else and so far I'm stumped. Maybe I'm just too picky?

I don't like the super hero stuff, or super powers, or any of that, and I think one of the main things I liked about TWD was that it was just normal people.

I'm also fairly turned off by a lot of the art I've seen. I really liked the black and white art in The Walking Dead and the style in general. I checked out the first two Bedlams and really liked that art style as well (and the story.) I'm going to check out Sin City as I've seen pictures and the art looks OK in that as well.

Is there anything else out there that is along those lines, either black and white or "washed out" looking (sort of like the colors in Pariah, Missouri) that has ongoing characters and no crazy super heroes/powers? Just...a normal story? Violence is fine, the more the better really.

    Any ideas would be great...thanks!

Scalped just finished. That seems like it might be up your alley. It is in color, but it's a more naturalistic pallette than your average superhero comic.

There aren't a lot of ongoing, black and white comics I can think of. I know a couple, but one of them is super hero oriented. If you're curious, check out Empowered by Adam Warren.

As far as ongoing black and white, there are a lot of mangas that are printed in black and white, with a lot of content.

Lone Wolf & Cub would be one you might want to check out. No superhero content, black and white and a ton of material to go through.

Shout out to Kev Walker! You're doing a hell of a job!

It doesnt HAVE to be black and white, I just dont like art that gets away from a realistic look. It seems like a lot of the art I've seen that I like is in super hero comics, and the stories that seem interesting are in books with art that really turns me off when i flip through it.

Scalped looks like it should be right up my alley though so I'll check that out!
