She's not herself literally at the time, but yea, I have no doubt that Emma would hope to do the same thing if Kenji didn't "whisper" to or Serpent's magic didn't influence her.

    Fantomex never had a funeral.

I think some of you might be blinded to the point I'm trying to project about the X-Men... It's not necessarily about who looks good physically in their eyes, but rather are the X-Men numb to the idea that despite the fact that these people are now mutants, deep down, they're also human with feelings. And often when living in a society where the general populace is against mutants, they suddenly find themelves as mutants themselves, which I'm sure is just about as life changing as becoming homeless overnight, or losing a limb. It's a traumatic event. And what I was trying to say in my opening post is that I think that after all these years, the X-Men are oblivious to that experience, and don't really offer any tangible or genuine sympathy for these new mutants. Between rescuing them from society, and accomplishing their goal of gathering more mutants to their cause, something is getting lost in translation, and rescuing them seems to be more of a routine chore than it is a thoughout plan.

That's the school's job. Xavier's had mentors just for that.

Marvel and Fox want marketable properties who sell well and have strong images. 'Sexy' is an added bonus, or at the very least 'appealing'. Even Nightcrawler's considered something of a sex symbol despite his 'unattractiveness'.

Folks like Kylun, Sunder, Marrow, Maggott, Skin, Penance/Hollow...they're fan favorites, (yes, even Maggott and Kylun have fans), but by and large Marvel doesn't consider them as marketable as the badasses and sexpots who make up the main team.

Gambit, who used to be considered 'the slutty one' before Emma came along (despite years of only ever dating one woman), now has his own solo series. His third, I might add. And Wolverine's animal magnetism has carried him through to the top of the ranks, because even if he's not supposed to be attractive, he's often drawn that way (and Hugh Jackman didn't help) and written as a Lothario who has tons and TONS of sex.

Basically, if you don't want to have sex with them, Marvel thinks they're not worthy as characters. And that prejudice seeps into the pages so it looks like the X-Men only care about the pretty and the powerful.
    I'm going with this.
