Not romance as in love. If you bothered reading two posts under taht one you woudlve known.
You ahve the weakest arguments man.
"Watch James Bond"
"His costume is ugly"
"Dude, hes just like the Punisher"
"Its just like James Bond"
Your only retorts are just "Its the same as this" . You must be absolutely tired of reading Superhero comics since its all just the same, people in costumes fighting crime.
I haven't seen any particularly strong arguments from you or your buddies about why Deathstroke should have a movie and how it could be unique experience when all youve come up with is:
Rip-off A)
Rip-off B)
Rip-off C)
Rip-off A a little more
Put Deathstroke on the title.
But then again, perhaps thats asking for too much?

No,first you claimed that Slade shouldn't get a movie cause he's a rapist and that the whole Terra thing is a part of his history, then you say that he should be the villain of a Teen Titans movie where he is perverse and rapey and basically do everything that would make him a rapist?
So like I said, you are the one who considers it an integral part of his character so yeah you want it to happen
Like I said, everything about the character can be incorporated in the movie except for whatever concepts the movie producers think won't translate well into the movie. That makes it a Deathstroke movie. I mean, really now. What essence are you talking about?.. who cares about the comic book history of a movie character? Movie goers won't care. As long as the story is entertaining with cool visuals, they'll be fine with it. It just all boils down to the creativity of the movie team to make any movie interesting..
Ex: Deathstroke doesn't have to be a "hero" at all. Just because it's a movie about a protagonist who wears a costume doesn't mean that protagonist has to be a good guy. He can be a remorseless super-soldier bounty hunter who would do everything to see a contract through. He can be matched against meta-human foes who are way more powerful than him and against which he has to use his brains/photographic memory more than his physical powers (actually this is kind of what's going on with Justin Jordan's run).
This is just an example. Movie writers can, of course, be more creative. Deathstroke has a ton of concepts a movie team can mine for ideas.
Anyway, stories featuring anti-heroes can be a fun read. Brunner the Bounty Hunter and Malus Darkblade series of novels published by Warhammer are great.

Yes but that's the point that's been made by several folks in this thread. Why call it Deathstroke so? If it's just some bloke who goes around killing people for money - then it's just another movie about a guy who kills people for money.
The thread asks 'why not a Deathstroke movie?' So what would make it a 'Deathstroke' movie if it's not based on the comics and the storyline is a carbon copy of every other merc on the run storyline.
Yeah thats right, you tell them. Just another bloke who kills people for money. Screw that.
Friggen screw superhero movies while were at it. Why should ANYONE ever make another superhero movie again, its just some bloke who goes around saving people in a costume.
Why even enjoy anything at all if the concept has been done once. From now on, from THIS day foward I will only watch the FIRST movie made in a certain genre and disregard all after, ever. They will be ruled as absolute and trash, and all the time.
Its a good question really. What about Slade is unique and interesting enough to warrant a film?
There are a number of things, I think. First off, his powerset. Now, enhanced physical and mental abilities are far from unique, but they offer a unique way to showcase Slade and his perception of the world. How would a man who can utilize his entire brain all at once see and react to things? That's an interesting concept worth exploring.
His (a)moral code is something that could open up some fun doors as well. The anti-hero mercenary who lives in the morally gray isnt exactly a new idea, but still offers a new twist to things depending on how you play it out. That largely depends on the supporting cast and plot of course, seeing how he bounces off these other factors.
And of course, perhaps the biggest twist of all could be Slade's antagonists. What if the movie sets him up against the heroes? Now that would be unique. A traditional superhero movie told from the perspective of the bad guy. That would be worth watching, and worth making. And still be fairly low budget.
See at least you responded without being insulting :)
I am interested in your idea. The only problem I can see is a film with a violent comic book protagonist being rejected because of the pitiful box office of Dredd - which was tragic really, because it's a damn good film.
