WWE Superstar Tyson Kidd is expected to be out of action for 10-12 months.

Details are still sketchy on exactly when his injury occurred but Kidd suffered a fractured knee and a torn ACL over the holiday house show tour.

--El Generico has not signed a WWE contract, but there is a verbal deal in place. WWE protocol is to not actually offer written contracts until the prospective wrestler has passed all drug tests and medical tests. Generico is back on this weekend's PWG show in Reseda, CA and is also booked on the show a week from Friday in Calgary that Kevin Nash, Bobby Lashley and others are on.

i wonder if the verbal deal is they said "Hey, we will give you a contract when the drug tests come in" and he said "Ole!"

I really want a beard/mask vs. mustache/beard match for the WWE Tag Team Titles.

Reasons Why WWE Signed El Generico, Triple H Interested In Signing Other Indy Stars, More
    By Marc Middleton
    Jan 10, 2013 - 8:15:47 AM

    - As noted before, WWE has signed El Generico to a developmental deal. One of the main reasons they wanted him is because he speaks a number of different languages. The feeling is that will come in handy as an asset for international markets. Generico has canceled some indy events and will likely be headed to developmental soon. There's a feeling among some within WWE that he will no longer wrestler under a mask but that's not confirmed.

Generico's signing is said to be part of a bigger plan as WWE has a number of indy stars on their radar that they want to lock into deals. Word is that this is a Triple H move and more signings are coming.

Two of those potential signings are Adam Cole and Sami Callihan. Both of them have tryouts with WWE scheduled between now and the end of January.

The success of guys like Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins in mainly CM Punk and Daniel Bryan has caused a different feeling within WWE when it comes to talent coming up through the indies, and also talent that doesn't have the look, size and physique that used to be the first thing WWE looked for.

that HHH, you gotta love'em huh?? anyways rollins, ambrose, and generico i can get because while none are massive they're fairly tall, but cole and sami are pretty damn short, i really can't see what they will do with those guys xcept maybe job in handicap matches.

either way if this is true, vince is fukn killing the indy scene right now. will open the gates for a new generation of indy stars to rise though. should be interesting to see who steps up.

    awesome.

but the WWE is always going to want its own product as well
maybe they figure they can sign talented indy guys and use them to make their guys look good.

damn if i knew that was going to be generico's last show i would've made arrangements to get my ass down to reseda.
Mr. Backlund continued wrestling under the new gimmick of an out of touch, yet highly dangerous, maniac out to teach the new generation a lesson.[3] He often appeared in business suits, had a hyperactive personality, and used (or, often, misused) large words to sound important. He also demanded that he be addressed as "Mr. Backlund". He would only sign autographs for wrestling fans if they could recite the names of all of the US Presidents in chronological order

Jimmy Snuka Talks About Tamina, His Nixed WWE Title Run, Hogan & More
    By Michael Bluth
    Jan 10, 2013 - 12:41:33 PM

Arda Ocal of theScore Television Network and the Baltimore Sun recently spoke with WWE Hall of Famer Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka. Highlights:

    - Why he decided to write an autobiography ("Superfly: The Jimmy Snuka Story") and open up about his use of drugs, adultery and pains in pro wrestling

    - His ankle being healed and still taking bookings and wrestling

    - His thoughts and feelings on what happened to his daughter Tamina in WWE:

"I taught both her and my son. At first they were using her pretty good, but all of a sudden they start (having her lose) and I thought 'what's going on here'? She hurt her wrist and was out for a while and now she's back again. She looks better than ever and I'm so proud of her. I tell her to put only one focus in your mind and take care of #1 and that's it".

    - A possible return to WWE for his son Jimmy Snuka Jr.?

    - The story on how Jimmy Snuka gave The Rock "The People's Eyebrow"

    - How Snuka was supposed to become WWWF champion, beating Bob Backlund, and he initially postponed the idea but it never happened

    - How he was supposed to turn heel and main event WrestleMania with Hulk Hogan and why that was squashed:

"Vince McMahon came up to me and said 'we want you to turn heel'. I said 'OK, what's up brudda?' and Vince said he wanted me to wrestle Hulk Hogan and I said I loved it. I heard that Hogan later that 'I don't want to wrestle with that crazy maniac.' But I loved him anyway."

The New York Post is reporting today that Mick Foley will be inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame this year, according to their sources.

The Hall Of Fame ceremony will take place on April 6th in Madison Square Garden, and Foley, of course, is a New York native.

No word on when the news will be announced on WWE programming, but word is that the first inductee for this year's class will be revealed on Raw this Monday night.
