Even though that second statement is true, even I know that your proficiency with the language will completely decide how far you go. From what I understand, most wrestlers won't even get to the point Del Rio is at with the English language, and despite what you hear in his promos, it's not as proficient as you would perceive it to be. He can read a script well enough, but beyond that, it's a daily struggle for him.

I know that Averno (who was being considered, until CMLL got in the way) actually knows English as a second language, but he is an exception that proves the problem.

EDIT: I forgot about his Toryumon experience (he's a graduate of the later day Toryumon group, or Ultimo Dragon's/Asai's wrestling camp, after Dragon Gate broke away to become the organization they are today). He can wrestle well against anyone with a different primary language (so, not complete stuck like Sin Cara is), but it's the insipid Sports Entertainment stuff he will struggle with. Remember, even Tanahashi looks like "another dude" with these old school idiots (in Tanahashi's case, TNA).

i'm surprised that you nor KK mentioned that okada can't promo in japanese, so speaking perfect english wouldn't help him much anyways, he'd still be better off with a mouthpiece ala gedo

It's the two top guys from wrestlings most popular period in history, one of which hasn't wrestled for years and years.
I would also prefer Punk, but i'm not even sure they have the balls to do that, probably puss out and do Cena vs Austin.

Agreed. I think people tend to discredit another person's accomplishments if they don't like them and confuse fact with opinion.

What? That was one of the only times people gave a shit about him as a champ.
He had the issue lots of people have had, he rarely won matches as champ, and not just because he was a against cena, there was always bullshit.
Heel champs have to win clean sometimes, the only time i recall miz looking like a champ was when he beat Bryan clean on a raw, in which Bryan carried him to a very credible win.

i think when he beat johnny holmes clean in a gimmick match of holmes choice on RAW was a much bigger/better moment from his reign.

I think CM Punk was on fire last night on Raw. The Rock brought it but he will definitely have to step his game up.

using the "box with god" line in 2013 was pretty fukn corny imo. i changed the channel like 3 times during punks promo before rock ever came out. punk is good on the mic but that shit was just waaaaay too long.
