Default Batman: The Black Glove Deluxe Edition

I'm starting my quest to read Grant Morrison's arc, and I have the Black Glove Deluxe Edition. I'm kind of confused; does this include Batman and Son?

If it begins with the Joker, Gordon and Batmen and art by Andy Kubert then yes.

Man, DC trades are really good at confusing people

I'm not sure which "Black Glove Deluxe" you have. It may be either

The original release of The Black Glove story arc, in Deluxe Format. Contains only 667-669 and 672-675. No Batman & Son.

The first edition of the combined Deluxe Format collection of Batman & Son + The Black Glove in one book. Helpfully, they called this Batman & Son VS The Black Glove. Contains 655-658, 663-669 and 672-675.

NOW it appears they've released a new edition of the above, with the stripped back title being simply The Black Glove: Deluxe Edition. Except it also still includes Batman & Son.

A line wide relaunch to pull in new readers and still they can't get simple things like trade dress right on some of their highest selling items. Not just this naming confusion, but things like numerical ordering, further reading lists (it's pathetic that people need to ask online what to read next in the Morrison run), catch up pages, character bios, etc. Seriously DC, how hard is it? Marvel's already showing you how it's done.

I'm pretty sure this version was never published. It was delayed many months, retitled, and given new art/layout on the dust jacket, to become "The Black Glove: Deluxe Edition," the 3rd book you list.

According to the cover, the A/V Club says it's 'Gripping'. I see what you did there!

I think your memory is playing tricks on you.

I can find no evidence (photographic or otherwise) that this book exists, which is odd given that it would have been released in April.

Add to that the fact that I anticipated and followed the release of this book quite closely - it was continually delayed (I think from late winter 2012 and one or two delays until early summer 2012). It's not like they published one version, cut the run short, said it was "delayed," and then published another version several months after, just to change the cover art. That wouldn't make any sense.

Thank you. This is actually becoming a rather intriguing mystery to me.
