^ Yeah, I'm pretty much over this now, heh.
I think I was going through the stages of depression and now have moved to acceptance after giving things more thought and listening to Slott on Word Balloon lol

I don't know. I just get this weird feeling that things won't get undone this time, or will after many years have past...
You're right, but doing stuff to shake things up and doing stuff for shock value is way different. I liked the story of Spidey with six arms... the whole man-spider thing was interesting. I really want Peter or Ben back.
I kinda get where you're coming from Charmed1...
Thanks for the kind words. I've been into comics for a long time and I love Spider-Man. He's my favorite character in all of fiction. I know you guys love him too. I know how it feels to disagree with a major status quo change. It sucks. We all grew up reading this great character. That's why comics, and Spider-Man in particular is so special and unique. He aged. We aged. We're on our journeys and he's on his. But it's important to be respectful when it comes to how we critique the book. When I was upset about omd, and never considered the difficult place the new creators were in. I never really considered them at all. When we critique the book, we need to do it respectfully. It's the only way they hear us. The only way we can get a point across. When fans say outrageous things, Steve and Dan don't take them seriously. Why should they? And it's counterproductive to the fan base because that poster might have a legitimate point somewhere in his argument.
Doc Ock - I'm Peter Parker.
Peter Parker - Not anymore Spider-Man. From now on I'm Peter Parker.
Good post Ryan. - Oldschool
I cannot recommend Scarlet Spider enough, but here's trying.
I get what Dan Slott is trying to do, I just don't like the way that he approached it...
Of course not!
Itīs easy to tell the difference between trying to do something permanent to the character or just part of a bigger story arc.
Just look at the clone saga, everybody from the beggining understood what the stakes were. They went out of their way to make Ben Reilly the new-true-to-itīs-roots spider-man, whilst at the same time trying to make PP look incredibly bad, making decisions that were completely against the core of the character.
And when they actually did it, they at least tried to give Ben his own cast of characters and his own world.
Now?They want us "to fade away", and how do they do it?They basically give us PPīs body, with same exact memories and the same world and the same cast of characters! Itīs just doesnīt have that feeling...
Besides if youīre really trying to create a legacy character(which IMO SM is the worst possible hero to attempt this), at least try doing it in a way that could work, the same way thatīs being done in USM(iīll just have to assume this because i quit once the killed that PP).
So PP fans are not going to fade away, thatīs just not going to happen anytime soon and Slott and Wacker know it better than anyone.
Heck, if they really thought that way than, if were them, iīd start thinking of a new career outside comics...
