Default So what were the hints for Dying Wish supposedly laid as far back as #600?

As above. I've not read as far as #600, and thereafter am up to date from Big Time's first issue. What exactly led up to the events of this last storyline. If an existing thread exists, feel free to redirect me.

Doctor Octopus had access to Peter Parker's brain waves back in Amazing Spider-Man #600. Doc Ock's been dying since then.

Julia Carpenter, the new Madame Web, predicted that there would be a great tragedy for Spider-Man.

I saw a scan someone here put up not long ago in which Pete tells Julia something like 'I'd die before I gave up being Spider Man', at which point Julia says 'Well, actually...' before Pete rudely cuts her off and changes the subject.

I'd like to see as many of these little clues as can be found. I'm unsure as to when the swap took place, or if Otto had some influence over Pete prior to 698, but I found Pete's interest in the lance of Terminus to be a little OOC.

Actually he says that he'd die before he -kills- anybody. In any case, there's hints. It isn't anything spectacular or mind blowing. He uses Ock's brainwave thing in 600, again in spider-island and boom, 698 we find out that was a bad thing to do.

Don't forget when he incorporated it into his spider-armor for Ends of the Earth as well.

Well, the clues for me seem to be the following:

As ASM #699 showed, anytime Spidey used Doc Ock's own tech for controlling the octobots, that's when Doc Ock got free, unrestricted access to his mind. So that's ASM #600, the finale of Spider-Island, and Ends of the Earth.

Julia Carpenter response to Peter saying that he'll die first before he ever takes a life turns out to be correct. Likewise, the moment when she offers him a chance to give up being Spider-Man to avoid his fate and says "sorry for your loss." The loss, could in fact, be seen as his own death.

Doc Ock's using the octobots to control people could also be a hint, seeing how he's actually possessing people. The gold octobot just allows him to possess someone on a more permanent basis.

Also Doc Ock using Peter's own Horizon Labs inventions as part of his scheme in Ends of the Earth. That, right there, could've been a subtle hint that Doc Ock has been reading Peter's mind all this time since that's how he's literally reverse-engineering Peter's inventions based on the "blueprints" from Peter's own head.
