    Default Ranking the new 52

I'm a new reader who jumped on board with DC after taking about a 2 year break completely from comics (after about 15 years of consistent reading and collecting all things Marvel, I felt I could no longer support their books because, in all honesty, they was ALL total crap). I would've moved to DC at that time, but continuity seemed too overwhelming and convoluted to simply jump aboard with, say, Batman or The Flash. So when DC rebooted, I kind of did too. I read everything for the first year, then dropped several books after that. Below are my rankings of every new 52 books up to this point, as well as thoughts here and there. Feel free to share your own ranking of the DC books on your pull list. Or not

    From best to worst:

    1. Batman - the best, most consistent title of the entire new 52
    2. Animal Man
    3. Swamp Thing
    4. Wonder Woman
    5. I, Vampire
    6. Aquaman
    7. Green Lantern
    8. Earth 2
    9. Blue Beetle
    10. Nightwing
    11. Batman and Robin
    12. Batman, Incorporated
    13. Supergirl
    14. Red Hood and the Outlaws
    15. Justice League
    16. The Flash
    17. Justice League Dark
    18. Action Comics
    19. Birds of Prey
    20. Suicide Squad
    21. Detective Comics - only counting the Layman issues
    22. Sword of Sorcery
    23. Batman: The Dark Knight - only counting the Hurwitz issues
    24. Resurrection Man
    25. Green Lantern Corps
    26. Voodoo
    27. Teen Titans
    28. Red Lanterns
    29. Catwoman - I liked this a lot better before Nocenti took over, it's really awful now...
    30. Green Lantern: New Guardians
    31. Superboy
    32. Batgirl
    33. StormWatch
    34. Talon
    35. Frankenstein, Agent of S.H.A.D.E.
    36. World's Finest
    37. Grifter
    38. O.M.A.C.
    39. The Ravagers
    40. Demon Knights
    41. All-Star Western
    42. Batwoman
    43. DC Universe Presents - hard to fairly rank this one, but ah well
    44. Blackhawks
    45. Deathstroke - the Liefeld issues brought this one down a lot, but Justin Jordan's first issue was awesome, so things are looking up
    46. G.I. Combat
    47. The Savage Hawkman
    48. Captain Atom
    49. Batwing
    50. The Phantom Stranger
    51. Legion Lost
    52. The Fury of Firestorm, the Nuclear Man
    53. Team 7
    54. Superman - only counting the Lobdell issues, which made this book rank higher than it was prior to him taking over (it was down there with Static Shock & Mister Terrific)
    55. Justice League International
    56. Men of War
    57. Legion of Super-Heroes
    58. Hawk and Dove
    59. Dial H
    60. Green Arrow
    61. Mister Terrific
    62. Static Shock

I know most of you will be wondering about my placement of Demon Knights and Dial H. Demon Knights just doesn't hold my interest, and Dial H is a big confusing mess. All of this is just my opinion, of course.

I've dropped all of these, in no particular order:

    All-Star Western
    Batwing
    Batwoman
Birds of Prey - I might pick it back up with the new writer, I'll probably wait to see what the reviews are like first
Catwoman - I would've kept this if Nocenti hadn't taken over
    DC Universe Presents
    Demon Knights
    Dial H
The Fury of Firestorm, the Nuclear Man
    Legion of Super-Heroes
    The Phantom Stranger
    Red Lanterns
    The Savage Hawkman
    StormWatch
    Talon
    Team 7
    World's Finest

I'll add Sword of Sorcery to that list if it stays mediocre, as well as The Ravagers if the upcoming new writer doesn't amaze me. Everything else I'm keeping. What about you guys?

Well.... here's what I pull. I'll try to rank them in order although many I like as well as any other.
    Batman
    Batman Inc.
    Swamp Thing
    Action Comics
    Justice League
    GL
    Aquaman
Detective (Laymen) Not as fun as I'd hoped.
Batman and Robin ( I actually dropped this and began re-pulling it a few issues back. Inconsistent?)
Superman (May jump up as the Lobdell stuff hits it's stride.

Out of everything I pull... really?? I only get excited about Batman, Revival, Walking Dead, Daredevil and now Amazing/Superior Spider-Man. Otherwise, everything else has become rather lifeless...

My current pull list consists of only three titles. My ranking is:

    1. Wonder Woman
    2. Batman and Robin
    3. Action Comics (dropping after Morrison leaves)

    I dropped the following books:
-Stormwatch after Cornell and Sepúlveda lefr the series (issue 6)
-Batman: I got really bored. Don't ask why, but I just couldn't get into the whole "owl" thing. Dropped it a month before "Night of the Owls"
-Flash: Beatiful art, but the stories were average

I'm also thinking about buying Dial H.

I have a limited pull list to begin with, but I'll rank my experience so far

    1. Batman- consistently exciting, gritty, and has me waiting for the next one. Only one issue that I had complaints with, but it was probably more editorial problems

    2. Teen Titans- I know many dont like it, but it is fun and I love the character development. I will admit the Culling was horrible, but before and after was very good

    3. Green Lantern: New Guardians- great variety of cast that seemed like a new adventure every issue but with an overarching story, something that I really enjoy in Green Lantern titles

    4. Justice League- I liked the origin arc, not much after, but it was still pretty fun at that point

    5. Deathstroke- only commenting on Higgins run, whcih was fun

    6. Batman and Robin- first arc was good, second was... mediocre at best, but I really enjoy the art

To be clear, the bottom of my list is "meh" and anything worse I didn't bother to rank.

I used to read a few comics when I was a 10 or so. 20 years passed by. I've certainly kept up with comic book TV shows and movies, but the New 52 was my first regular collecting experience. I like collecting a lot to catch up with all the characters, but realistically I'll have to drop some titles or wait until they are cheaper (digitally or trades). Here's how I'd rate them so far. I am grouping them for simplicity, with best in a group to the left. Maybe it's not fair to lump all the same together (some are better than others), but I read them in groups as a whole story. Also, I am basically averaging all issues 1 up to current.

Batman titles - Batman, Red Hood, Nightwing, Batgirl, Batman and Robin, Batwoman, Birds of Prey, Dark Knight, Catwoman, Batman Inc., Detective Comics, Talon, Suicide Squad, Teen Titans

    Wonder Woman - quite fun
    Justice League
    All-Star Western - a surprisingly entertaining book
Green Lantern titles - Green Lantern, Corps, New Guardians
Justice League International - I liked this book! RIP
    Aquaman
    Flash
Superman titles - Action Comics, Superman, Superboy, Supergirl
Hawk and Dove - I liked it at first, but it ended badly.
Worlds' Finest and Earth 2 - as a newer reader, it's hard to get into another Earth.
Phantom Stranger - intriguing, but I'll give it a few more to see where it's going.
Team Seven - it's difficult to like this book when you know everyone's fates. It was described as giving answers about that 5 year gap, but not much so far.
Stormwatch - Not easy to get into. Once Martian Manhunter left, I dropped this title.
Ravagers - Dropped after giving it some time.
Green Arrow - Love the character. Dislike the book. I keep it on the pull list and hope.
DC Universe Presents - I've only picked up a few here and there, but the stories were so-so.

I know that's a lot of Batman titles to lump together, but I try to enjoy as a whole.

Can't disagree with ya more, buddy. I love Morrison's ACTION COMICS. I love it real hard. INC is a good book but suffers (for me) since I'm not much of a Batman fan. It just isn't as compelling. Action Comics is everything I enjoy about Superman rolled up into a nice little package. In 12 issues Morrison did more with Superman's rogues gallery than anyone has in years. Plus I love all that "dumb attacked through time and space" stuff.

All Star is superior, sure, but it's not part of this discussion.

I'm with Flash Gordon on Action Comics. Especially now that everything's coming together nicely.

If I'd rank the best comics out of the few New 52 titles I've read this year, it would go down like this, ranked from best to worst.

    Action Comics
    Batman, Incorporated
    Batwoman
    Animal Man
    Batman
    Swamp Thing

    1. Wonder Woman
    2. Batman, Incorporated
    3. Action Comics

    4. Supergirl
    5. Batwoman
    6. The Flash
    7. Superman - (Lobdell)
    8. All-Star Western
    9. Detective Comics (Layman)

I don't really consider picking up anything else.
