As long as his Iron-Spidey suit lasted
As long as everyone knowing his identity lasted
as long as him being placed by Ben Reily lasted
As long as Aunt May's death lasted
As long as his marriage lasted
As long as his death in The Other lasted
Until the next big Marvel Event starts
As long as Professor Xs death is probably going to last
With a bit of luck, one of us creates a time machine and reverses the damage already done.

Too long...oh wait, it was ever published to begin with...make that WAY too long!
Ever since the first issue of Superior Spider-Man, I have been very curious as to how long the series is going to last. The seeds for Peter's revival are already being planted, and i doubt Marvel wants to make this series a long term (<50 issues) series.
Thoughts?
SpOck will probably last at least a year, which is what has been mentioned in interviews.
Bad news everyone...
I think that Spock will last for as long as people continue to buy the book. To have Peter comeback within a year's time is premature. I say let's see Mephisto implant Peter's soul into The Man-Thing. Imagine the Man-Thing with Peter's mind in control? A lot of potential there. Or his soul could be implanted into the host of a convicted serial killer on Death Row who is innocent, that could to a prison story arc. There is a lot of potential to use his soul to tell a story as Mephisto observe with delight.
I say let Dr. Ock have his fun as Spider-Man while Peter is experiencing his own personal Hell that would have stories that we can all relate to.
I reckon it'll be 'til January next year. I've noticed recently that they tend to favour starting the new year off with big changes - Sensational Spidey #0 was in January, and Ben lasted as Spider-Man 'til Spider-Man #75, which was December. Big Time lasted from January 2011 'til January '13. I'm sure there are other examples, but I can't see it lasting mroe than a year when you consider that double shipping makes for 24 issues. If they get some really good ideas out of it I'd welcome it lasting as long as they like but I don't see there being that much mileage in it.
Guessing until the movie comes out, though hopefully SpOck will get his own body and Spider identity, I'm enjoying this new spider far too much. I'm not too bothered about multiple spider men running around. Except for Steel Spider..
Silly people.
It will last until its time for the next found of reboots and renumberings. Then we'll get All New, Amazing Spiderman #1.
Price your book at $3.99 and I'll trade wait. Make me wait too long for the trade PAPERback and I'll say screw it. I'm looking at you Marvel and Spider Island.
Actually it'll last until Reed Richards gets back to fix it. Then his gizmo will have as much success as curing Ben Grimm and someone else will switch bodies with Pete.
Who would you choose?![]()
Until it is cancelled or changed, this series won't die until Marvel decides it neccessary.
''How do you find someone who has spent a lifetime covering his tracks? For some, he was a guardian angel. To others, a ghost who never quite fit in''
I think it will last about two months past the Age of Ultron. I'm thinking Sept-Oct we have Peter back in his body full-time.
And I wish Dick and Bucky were still The Batman and Captain America, respectively. I think the quality of story telling we had w/ this character progression / change is far to superior to anything we've had since' the New 52 / Heroic Age (when things reverted back). Even the Court of Owls could have occurred w/ the original Batman Inc. premise of Dick being the Batman of Gotham still in place. Bruce would have still returned to deal w/ it in issue 1 for whatever, randomly invented reason. It's the same reason I hope Otto has a long tenure as Spider-Man. Character progression is a wonderful thing to is far under utilized in comics.
That said - I think it will last 18 months. That seems to be the indicated self-life of the concept - based on what I've read in interviews. That's about as far out as Marvel now was planned 2 months ago (I think 15 months was actually the given number) - so 18 seems accurate. I do hope it's a lot longer though...and that Ghost-Peter goes and bothers Kaine ;) (which can't happen actually - since my theory is that the real Otto died in his body, and that what's running Peter's body right now, is a mental map-OS of Otto's brain patterns, imprinted over Peter's - thus establishing dominance in his body as the primary mental map / OS).
