Why does Wonder Woman need a family of Wonder-somethings jumping around in and out of this comic, flashing their little yella' eagles at comics fans? It's marketing, dear Watson!
I look forward to a time, when Lennox will be guesting in other comics - Hawkman, Suicide Quad, Superboy, Red Boot And The Outlaws, whatever - and believe he should be carrying (at least) one of the trademarks of the Wonder Woman comic, when he does. Action comic fans, who may not be into Wonder Woman (probably because she's Wonder Woman) who will see Lennox in one of those comics, see his 'yellow eagle' insignia bracers or belt buckle, might go looking for more Lennox action, over in Wonder Woman. When Lennox becomes a symbol of something outside of the WW comic, ..it'll spread like wildfire from there.
That you can dig Wondy, root for her, but, like the Rockstar, still be your own guy. Otherwise, what good is he? Seriously.
For my money, Etta Candy (wild AND fat) is Wonder Woman's sidekick and official girl-Friday. Etta's the 'Jimmy Olsen' of this comic, though Zola will do in a pinch. Who needs Lennox for something either of these cool women can do better?
While the Amazons and routine trips to Paradise Island (NOT Themyscira) have been some of my favorite memories of reading the Wonder Woman comic, they can't carry the Wonder brand - eagle insignia or whatever - the way a Wonder Girl or a Wonder-Thing can. This comic needs that kind of boost right now, and the Amazons can always return, sometime later - right?
Lennox, unquestionably, is the Little John of the Wonder Woman Family, with Zola being Diana's answer to Gabby Hayes. Branding Lennox with eagle insignia belt buckle or bracers and dropping him into a popular comic for a few months is a winning play for Wonder Woman, because Lennox will attract new and unlikely readers.
And bring back Donna, too! I'm a Titans fan.
