Same, I still play my old Red version on my teal Gameboy color, and I always choose Charmander as a starter, despite he is the worst starter according to the old strategy guides when dealing with the first two gym leaders: Brock-rock type and Misty-Water type. By the end I have a Dragon team consisting of Charizard, Aerodactyl, 2 Gyrados, Dragonite, and Metwo as a psychic pokemon debuffer.
