I am not liking this.

If Octus takes advantage of Kimmy*; I'm gone. Err, Let me rephrase this. If Inferior Octo-Man rapes MJ; I'm gone; Maybe I'll check out Marvel every couple of years to see if they have Rebooted/Retconned/Recanted this story.

Thing is; MJ knows Peter better than anyone. There is still a good chance that she will figure out that this is not Peter before it is too late.

*I think this Slott fella has been watching too much Sym-Bionic Titan.

Last I checked X-Factor was still good, sadly in my country we get only one/two books a year. ANd I´d rather PAD wrote Spidey again.

I came in to Spider-Man comics through the J.M. DeMatteis story where the Chameleon impersonated Peter and MJ knew right away after he kissed her. And then she beat the crap outta him. That story (Spectacular #242-245) holds a special place in my fanboy heart.

I think it's one thing to introduce yourself to a woman as Barney the astronaut instead of Barney banker and end up sleeping together, than it is to murder a woman's ex-fiance, on and off again lover, and try to sleep with her while she thinks you're him trying to get back together with her.

I'm really enjoying Scarlet Spider and will keep up with that book. I just hope that Slott handles Octo-Man/MJ in a classy manner.

It should have been thought bubbles, which is a dumb mistake on my part. Though I am not sure your point. I don't think I will be reading SSM. Though I have said this before, so I can understand not believing me.

I made a point like this in another thread without spoiling ASM 700 or SSM 1 and that Mets moderator guy deleted it. My point was no matter how marvel spins it and unless nothing happens which I doubt or unless MJ consents knowing who PP really is then this is rape plain and simple. And the fact its been done like 3 times now in the last 5 years with Marvel is alarming. I don't know what's wrong with Dan Slott, and specially with Marvel editorial allowing this kind of thing. It is completely insensitive to a whole abused population and I am not kidding or playing around. They are just asking for Disney to start interfering in their stories with stupidity like that after they get people with half a brain to notice. And to do this once again to Peter Parker of all people, specially after Sins Past is just devastating. I mean I know Marvel equates the hatred of its characters as love because it makes them "grow" but this is something you do not come back from short of a full reboot as it tarnishes the reputation of a franchise character equated with doing the right thing and who is more beloved for his character than anything else he could do with his powers. And they are going to irrevocably tarnish his reputation.

Yeah that character is a monster, though the show does admit he is. Though I think they miss the point of why he is bad going by the season finale.

At the end of the issue, he's trying to be a better man.

I disagree.

A better man would confess the truth to Mary Jane and put an end to the deception. If Doc Ock doesn't do that then he's not a better man nor is he even trying to be one.
