Of course Diana can now relate as well, though all of her evil siblings are older than she is. But Cyborg? Superman? Green Lantern? Shazam? Flash? Not so much.

Except Orm isn't really a supervillain. In fact, doesn't Aquaman say in the issue itself that Orm is "not a supervillain." Plus, I don't think villain even applies to half of Wonder Woman's godly siblings either. The only one that you could say outright fits the villain mold is Apollo (and maybe Artemis).

I'd say that the whole "they save the world from monsters on a regular basis" thing balances out the "every 300 years they go out and breed and then kill their mates" thing and makes them more neutral than anything else.

How long has MERA been that powerful ?
I wonder what kind of ramifications Arthur will face?

Leaders make contingency plans all the time. There was a time where we were stockpiling nuclear weapons as a deterrent to keep other countries in line.
There are four stages of matter. Solid. Liquid. Gas & Don't. It's science.

Didn't the USA once have (singular) plans for war with half their allies. Canada, Britain, Germany, Mexico, etc...

    Actually:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_...oded_War_Plans

She did push back Siren's Atlantean invasion in the pages of Brightest Day where she began to blead from her ears/nose but I suppose that was smaller scale compared to a tidal wave flooding an entire city.

A part of me is actually hoping that the Flash does not show up. I think this crossover could benefit from having fewer characters.

Yeah, I agree in terms of integrity of the story. But... it's just a little convenient that the one guy who'd be really super-useful at evacuating crisis zones isn't available! :D

But then, with this and The Grid coming up, it looks like we're going to be getting more stories focussed on members of the League rather than necessarily every issue featuring everyone. Which I could live with. Be a good way to support a larger roster in the long term as well, with Shazam (at least) joining and (hopefully) Hal's eventual return.

Plus, if it bothered me that much, at least Flash will be in H'el on Earth over in the Super Titles later in the month!

Interesting there's a lot of flexibility Johns has with the line-up. He can use a solo book as an excuse for a character's absence, or he can make them all happen at the same time anyway.

I have to admit, I'm intrigued by the subplot about Arthur and his relationship with Atlantis. I may have to keep this book on my pull list indefinitely.

I see the "murdering innocent men after seducing them and being willing to murder their male children (if not for Hephaestus' intervention)" is more like a toxic infection, and even if they save the world from monsters, they're still monsters to the innocents they murder.

Re contingency plans, the concept of having them is fine--but, as I said above, it's the content of those plans which makes them morally good or bad. I have nothing against contingency plans.
