It would be kinda funny is Ock is outed during a seemingly innocuous story. It could be a team-up with the X-Men, and things seem to be going well, until the X-Men decide that beating up Pyro is less important than avenging Spider-Man.

Random aside- The Avenging Spider-Man can have a different meaning now. Especially if you take out the "The."

end of spoilers due to the Phoenix Power. Jean is still dead unless you mean young jean and then.... does she know spider-man yet? Dr. Strange has not noticed a lot in the past so I wouldnt be too shocked if hes too busy to sense it.

Id more wonder about DD after Spock tries to get him.
I think any psychic who went in there would know quite a bit was wrong, honestly, if for no other reason that Otto's view of self is clearly still that of that fat kid, as seen in 700. Strange of course would know because he deals with Souls and auras and astral jazz all the time. Him not noticing would be Strange indeed (HAHAHAHAHA.), at least, if he comes into direct contact with Spider-Man. Of course, the logical thing would be to keep him AWAY from Superior.

Of course, in reality, people like Strange and Psychics won't notice because they might try to spoil the fun. So maybe someone like Daredevil who might just mourn will find out, but anyone with any kind of power ain't going to.

Pssh. DD's powers might as well be magic with all the things he senses. He'll just say that every third heartbeat feels ominous or something.

Yeah, you're right about people overlooking Osborn right now. Although there is a teeny-tiny thing that somewhat bothers me about Peter in his body. See, when Otto switched minds, they shared all their memories. Pete got Ock's and vice versa. If that happened with Norman, Peter'd be treated to an insider's view to Gwen's affair and piling up Sins Past on top of Dying Wish would be just plain cruel

what about the Cucos? or whatever the hell they're called
there's also Psylocke and/or Madame Web, I dunno there's just so many people that can peak into Spidey's head and see that everything's not right

HELL, if Rogue touches him, that's it the jig is up, and Ock doesn't really know about Rogue does he?

Eh, kinda. I mean, even if they figure out that Peter's not in his body, it's still his body. Killing it seems like a bigger problem.

Honestly, the other problem is that any solution that involves other heroes necessarily involves Peter's identity once again becoming more well known.

Eh? Apparently I don't know about Rogue either. She just drains powers last I knew.

But Madame Web is in a coma, last we saw. She's not an issue yet.

Or he could get an insider's view of how it was all a giant lie. But eh, I'm sure Norman will be like the second villain Ock faces or something. Maybe third. I doubt this is going to be a Reilly situation where everyone just gets dropped after Ben died.

Sorry if this idea has been discussed already. I don't feel like reading 32 pages of this thread. I just finished re-reading 700 & the one thing bothering me is why didn't Peter switch his mind into anyone else? He had a chance with Paste Pot Pete. Carlie, Scorpion, Hydro-man, JJJ, ANYONE.... At least it would have given him more time to get help or think of another solution other than the deathtrap body he was in.

I personally don't think Slott's going to go that route just out of how dark and messed up it would be. They'd be sharing a body because Norman's still in there and as you pointed out, he'd have access to Norman's mind. Norman Osborn is freaking crazy. I don't think I want Peter in that situation. That's too dark and twisted for the character.

I'm eagerly awaiting Norman's first confrontation with Superior. I think Ock's too arrogant to not tell Osborn what he did and maybe that's where Ock goes wrong. Maybe Norman doesn't burst into laughter. Maybe he hates the idea that Ock is inside Peter's body.

Wouldn't it be something else if Norman Osborn saved Peter Parker?
Doc Ock - I'm Peter Parker.
Peter Parker - Not anymore Spider-Man. From now on I'm Peter Parker.

Because switching bodies with someone else is a death sentence for that someone else. If Spider-Man switched with anyone, they'd die in Ock's body. It wasn't an option.

It would be. It could conceivably go that way. That said, I suspect it'll be more like: Norman goes after Spidey expecting the same old, same old, gets his *ass* kicked and goes "WTF" for a while. Then he comes back and shows why hes' a top dog and destroys the hell out of Ock, forcing Ock to become more heroic in response, much to Ock's chagrin.

The Goblin is *pure* chaos when he's really going and Ock is *order*. Regimented, inflexible order. Norman will hit Ock in ways that Ock isn't suited to handle whereas Peter was flexible enough to roll with. Ock is not.

Sharing a mind with Norman is too dark, but dying in Doc Ock's body while Doc Ock takes over his life isn't too dark?

Fair point. But I think sharing a mind with the murderer of your lost love who fathered children with her is a different *kind* of dark. Also, the less we have to revisit Sins Past, the better. XD

That's a great point. Having the guy that killed you walk around in your body. That's seriously f'd up. Hey, I brought it up because the book is darker now and I think it's a possibility.

My thinking, and this is just how i'm thinking about this, is that Peter's not in his body right now. He doesn't know what Ock's doing. He's nowhere right now. You're completely right in stating how dark the ending of 700 was. The story didn't feel all that dark to me, but the ending was very dark. I think Peter inside of Norman Osborn, a psychopathic murderer that hates you more than Doc Ock does, is even darker than that. I'm not sure how I'd feel about reading ASM after Peter's been through 700 and then through living in Norman O's mind.

And, of course, there's always the possibility that someone'll try to ressurect Doc Ock, not knowing he's actually Peter Parker. D:

MAYBE we'll continue to see a Doctor Octopus-Parker to counter our Spock and this is the big surprise! D:

    (I doubt this. Initially. XD)
