Aretha Franklin holds the title of Queen of Soul, and her talent and achievements merit that title, but I feel that Darlene Love is right up there with Franklin in terms of vocal ability. They sound very similar (so much that I've often mistaken one for the other), but I've always had a few more favorite hits from Love than I have from Franklin. To me, the two singers are very comparable.
